Anyone think...

That the Saturday nite game will get picked up to a National Station? They've done it before, cuz of people pissin and moanin about not having NFL Network. It's a big game, I figured somebody would pick it up....

Re: Anyone think...

I read somewhere that the NFL has already announced that it will only air on NFL Network.

Re: Anyone think...

If you can tell me who to piss and moan to, I will do it, because I don't have NFL Network.

Colts, Saints games will stay on NFLN only | ProFootballTalk.com

Local stations and NFLN only. Piss and moan to the NFL and/or your provider (cable company, etc).

Earlier this year the nfl allowed people to watch it on the internet on a delayed basis that didn't have nflnetwork.

Going over to my dad's place to watch the game Sat. night. Not bringing the kids to the bar with me on a Saturday night!

Thanks Exile. I found the NFLN Contact before you posted it. I gave them my two cents worth. And from what it looks like, thats about all it's worth.

No problem Sarg... I am watching NFLN now on sky_high on Justin.tv

Not sure if it will still be available for the game though.

Thanks, I'm going to e-mail that link to the house. I've heard people talk about Justin TV, but I've never tried to use it during a game. I really don't want to go toa bar to watch this game.

Re: Anyone think...

I hope this causes controversy, bc it seems very unfair to fans as well as cable companies.

Re: Anyone think...

To hell with the cable companies & the NFL Network.

It is the desrie of both to make more money than God that causes this problem.

I have Brighthouse & according to them (take with a grain of salt) the NFL wants to attach some type of stipulation on getting the NFL Network that some (many??) cable companies are not willing to do.

SO who suffers? Us the fans.

I have a lovely adjective for them both BUT it isn't very appropriate.

You can watch NFLN games on NFL.com. They even have people giving extra analysis and stuff during commercials.

Unfair to the cable companies?
Cable companies want the NFL network, but they don't want to pay for it. They want to get for free what DirecTV pays for, so they can take customers away from DirecTV. They want their cake and eat it too.

Re: Anyone think...

why would the NFL, put one of the most hyped games of the season, on a channel that reaches roughly 30,000 TV's???? THAT doesnt make sense....

Re: Anyone think...

They want you and I to rush out and buy direct TV before the game starts. Money, Money, Money! I bet, if the information can be found, that Direct TV sales the last two weeks have skyrocketed. But not by me.

Re: Anyone think...

NFLN allowed the Pats/Giants game to be played at the end of the Pats undefeated season due to the fact that the Pats were on their way to make history. Why wouldn't they play the Saints game for that very reason?

It plain stinks.

..maybe because this coming game is NOT history making?

What I've gathered from reading much commentary over the past couple years, is that it's because they want everyone to run out and pressure their cable provider to offer NFLN. Cable companies largely have not picked up the station because of the per-user fee that NFLN demands. It's out of line with what other channels charge the cable companies.

I did read, I think on the Saints site, that it will be shown on WGNO 26 in the N.O. area.
I'm over in the FL panhandle, and I have Brighthouse... guess I'm going to Buffalo Wild Wings Saturday night.

I knew when the NFL channel started up that they would be airing games on their network. Initially it was the Thursday games and now they are expanding their audience to include even more games like our Saints game on Saturday. You watch, they will have close to 50% or more of the games running on the NFL network within 3-5 years. If you think the NFL package is expensive just wait.

.. but the NFL Tickt is not expensive. It is $200.00. Per game, that's $12.50. How much do you spend going to a bar to watch the game?

You mean you didn't get rid of the NFL Package after Kevin Kolb lit up the Saints this year?

And I would argue that the first NFC team to reach 13-0 (soon to be 14-0) is making history. And two NFL teams undefeated this far into the season is also historical.

Re: Anyone think...

It's not only Directv that has it. Dish Network has had it for a couple of years as well. There are a couple of cable providers that have it as well now.

To be honest, Directv is NOT cheaper than cable, however Dish Network is where I live so I have Dish Network and have been happy ever since.
