what we needed to do was warm up a seat for bushrod on the bench right next to john carney

Maybe he's calling Bushrod a four letter word that goes along with his name ... DICK?

I like Bushrod, but he got OWNED last night. Ware and that other clown put on a clinic ...

C'mon fellas, Bushrod was bound to have a bad game. Brees had an awful game...wanna bench him???

Payton admitted he should have given him some help in his press conference.

Mistake admitted. If Dallas somehow wins a playoff game, Payton won't make the same mistake again.

Well having to run for your life can cause any QB to have a bad game..rewatch the last drive ..Bushrod was helping Ware get to Brees..its like he was saying "there he is go get him ..i wont stand in your way...lol...just venting

No you're right. And someone just said that Payton admitted his mistake. But let's stop short of crucifying Bushrod for the loss.

Last night was a perfect storm. Sometimes you're the bug and sometimes you're the windshield.

Yea If we wanna bench people then Henerson and Jenkins should have a seat as well

Is anyone really surprised that Bushrod had a hard time preventing probowl DE Demarcus Ware from getting to Brees? The man had 20 sacks last year to lead the league. Jammal Brown would have struggled against Ware too.

Bushrod is the next goat and I understand that but he certainly doesn't deserve all the blame. He needed help last night.

That was my original question ...where was the help?

bushrod went up against one of the elite pass rushers in the NFL and got schooled. lets see how he bounces back next week then hang the guy. Still not sold on him or Brown at LT.

hmmm round 2 of the draft....
Sam Young, Notre Dame 6-7, 318, 5.20

round 3
Selvish Capers, West Virginia, 6-6, 289, 4.91

What do we have like 4 draft picks next year??

Good to see ya back Hagan.

Re: Ok its the morning after and one thing i dont understand

Right Strato where was the help. Ware was a game time decision but when he hit the field it was time to adjust. That is on the Coaching staff to adjust especially when the pressure was consistent. Most of the game Brees was running for his life, the staff has a better view of the game than we do.

It's just like the Panthers did tonite, to the mullet, put a tight end over there, to help pass block. Dinkins is our blocking TE, stick him in there. Couldn't have hurt, that's for sure.

The mullet lol...it worked he was ineffective...we can learn from this

hell yeah, '76. I agree, and I love your optimism. Look at all the things that had to happen for a team to beat us. ...and they still barely won.
The glass is nearly full.

I, too, would have thrown in Strief and to see what he could do. Ware was just on fire, much like Julius Peppers last night. I dont know what happened to our backfield support.

Tell you another reason to be happy. Brees could have been pretty badly hurt on that one where Ware slammed him to the turf-- on his throwing shoulder.

The Vikings lose last night. We're 13-1, and still top seed. I think I lost 2 lbs. almost done Christmas shopping. Its a good day.

Re: Ok its the morning after and one thing i dont understand

The blocking help was all in the bench or is in IR: Evans, Reggie, Shockey...

I think we tend to overlook the blocking of Shockey but especially the blocking of Reggie and the presence of Reggie on the field. I love PT but if there's one thing PT cannot do as evidenced last Saturday night, is block.

another outstanding point from Toby. yes.

Beat me to it, T-R. Totally spot on. The reasons we lost were all on the bench convalescing for the playoff run.

If you think that this team is as vulnerable with a full complement of personnel during the playoffs, you should fire your supplier and get a new stash cause the stuff you're smoking is laced with moose feces.

Re: Ok its the morning after and one thing i dont understand

The one positive to take on this is that we played our poorest game of the year and Dallas played its best and we were still only 1 devery dropped pass from forcing OT.

Again, just too much went wrong to say it was ONE PLAY.

I wonder why Dinkins.Strief ..or our new fullback.. anybody could of helped on that last drive....Its on the the coach and im sure he knows it..oh well its in the past ..just wonder if Drew could have tied it...

Re: Ok its the morning after and one thing i dont understand

I'm still trying to figure out why Moore didn't get more slot after Bush pulled up lame. They weren't giving us anything deep...so take the underneath stuff and let Moore do what he does. 1 seven yard touchdown screen and nothing else. I think he would have kept the chains moving, let Brees get the ball out of his hands more quickly, and opened up the outside for the other guys, and softended the middle for the running attack. But what do I know?

Re: Ok its the morning after and one thing i dont understand

Normally the help on that side comes in the form of a Two TE set. Shockey was out and not sure if Dinkins was active. I do think D. Thomas should have gotten that assignment but it was obvious Payton wanted everyone possible running routes...which was a big reason Brees was always scrambling or worse.

Re: Ok its the morning after and one thing i dont understand

I ain't going to quote y'all, but Strato, Darstep, and Sir, I concur.

The good thing is that we heard coach Payton admit his mistakes, unlike, let's just say, previous staffs :)
