With all due respect...I am of the opinion that anyone that talks bad about Eli is talking bad about the Mannings, and I, being a faithful Saint fan, feel that all Saints fans should defend Eli when people talk crap about him. So, you see, I am so hard core Saints that anyone talking bad about Archie's son is talking bad about the Saints.

I can see that I am in the minority regarding this opinion, and I promise I will never comment on anything that Bolt fan has to say from this day forward. I don't want to get banned.. I just wanted to get that off my chest.

Eli does not play for the Saints or has he ever.

People talk bad about Kellen Winslow Jr. and he's the son of a Hall of Famer TE who spent his entire career as a Charger. I don't get bent about it cause his son is not a Charger.
Not to mention... he is a jerk.

I don't think you understand what he's trying to tell you about the mannings, Archie played for the Saint's allmost his whole career and got the living S H I T beat out of him the whole time he was here simply because he was the team.After he retired he remained here and raised his family Eli, Peyton and others so the locals have kinda gotten attached to the family and wish them well. I pull for the Mannings simply for that reason and I hate the Giant's (like the Colt's) so out of respect to others that feel the same as Saint's LB stop with the Eli smack.

I thought the same until draft day for Eli. After that day I find him just classless. How many players have entered the draft and gladly gone to whichever team drafted him? And who in the hell thinks that they are too good to go to any team that drafted him? I just didn't understand the whole scenario.

That is just another reason in a long line that I like the classy Brees guy we got now.

I understand what Archie means to the Saints and he deserves that respect and recognition. I'm quite aware of what he did for the franchise.

He and Sheli also earned the ill feelings that fans through out Southern California have for them and it's nobody's fault but their own!
As the #1 draft pick, you are suppose to go to a team that's struggling and help make them competitive. That's why it's called the "NFL Draft" and not the NFL Job Expo.
Having said that... it is not smack, disrespect towards the Saints, or dishonoring Archie's achievements (as a player). It's just the truth!

All fans are passionate about their team. You insult the franchise, you insult them. If the tables were turned... it would be no different in New Orleans.

Anyway... that's not the reason I came to this forum. I like the Saints and if them make the Super Bowl and their opponents are anybody besides the Chargers... I'll root for them.

EXACTLY!!! The only other player that did that was John Elway in the days of the Baltimore Colts. Baltimore fans can't stand him the same way.

I believe it. When I went to a game back in the early 90s, it was loud but didn't seem as loud as it is today.
I can't remember what season it was but I think you guys started out at 8-0 and played the Falcons in the playoffs. Go figure, it was a Saints/Falcons game and then I really understood that rivalry.

This I can agree with. That is not the reason I came here. Though you can't blame San Diego fans for having ill feelings towards the Mannings. That's just being human.

Though I'm glad they did that... because for that we got one of the top 3 best QBs in the league, a Pro Bowl linebacker (hope he gets healthy), and one of the best kickers in the league.
Being 2-0 against Sheli doesn't hurt the situation either.


With that said, I'm going to request... don't get me started on the Mannings. If you want to talk about Archie's career with the Saints, that's cool but please leave Sheli and the 2004 draft out of it.

I guess you are right ELI refused to play for the Chargers and it was well known to them before they drafted him but he's classless. The chargers are such a CLASSY orginization they cut probably the best QB we ever had.

Besides one team isn't big enough for Rivers and Brees. Neither should spend their career on the bench.

BTW...
After the 2005 season, the Chargers offered Brees a 5-year, $50 million contract that paid $2 million in base salary the first year and the rest heavily based on performance incentives. Brees took the incentive-based offer as a sign of no confidence by the Chargers and promptly demanded the type of money a top 5 "franchise" quarterback would receive.
