Your Thoughts
What if our bench comes up big today and we beat Carolina? Does that give the team momentum into the playoffs? It is not the starters winning. What if we lose BIG? Does Drew and crew even care?

Re: Your Thoughts
i cant speak for drew and crew, but, i wanna win this game! even if it's our backups playing, i never like to lose, especially to the friggin' panties! i'm a believer in momentum, but, we did lose two straight to end the 2006 season. still, though, backing into the playoffs gives me a bad taste in my mouth.
a little stat that may or may not be meaningless, no team has every lost it's last 3 regular season games and made it to the superbowl. |
Re: Your Thoughts
I would like to win, and I think all the players want to too. Always better to win than lose.
Getting healthy right now is the most important though. |
Re: Your Thoughts
My thoughts:
This team is done, and everybody from Benson to the ballboys knows it. Overrated, peaked too soon, say whatever you want, but we fluked our way through the season. No talent on defense, terrible special teams, and an offense that disappeared after week 11. No chance in hell this crappy team even sniffs a playoff win. |
Re: Your Thoughts
Thought 1: We KNOW what we have in Mark Brunell. A 40 year old backup QB with a couple skins on the wall and a bit slower metabolism than he used to have. It was stupid of Payton not to let Chase sniff the field (especially when the score swelled to 20 - 3). [C-]
Thought 2: Nice seeing Jabari Greer back in, and a couple new faces like #52. I can tell there was a nice difference having both starting corners -- and on the flipside I could also tell Jonathan Vilma wasn't in there. Though, barring the long scoring run at the beginning, I think the players tightened up fairly well. [B-] Thought 3: John Fox ought to thank Payton. Payton turned out to be the best Panthers coach on the field today. He did his part in saving his buddy's job by clearly deciding he didn't want to win it. I'm disgusted with this interesting little notion. Sure, one could use any number of alibis and excuses such as keeping players healthy. But then you'd be assuming that us fans are too stupid to notice the lack of coaching effort needed to win this game. [F] Thought 4: I was glad I could walk out and start grilling at halftime, knowing my team could lose and it not affect their seeding. [A] I hope I'm just being negative and pessimistic about the idea Sean lost on purpose -- please somebody knock some sense into me |
Re: Your Thoughts
It's a whole new season after this week, hopefully our coaches have a plan depending on the outcome of the playoffs.
I don't want to see Dallas and Barber and Jones again. Or Ware for that matter. |
Re: Your Thoughts
My thoughts are everyone needs to settle down. Talk about over reacting! Look, Greer being back is HUGE for our defense and you could see it when he played today. That allows Sharper to patrol the field like he did in the beginning of the season (when Greer was in). Add healthy linebackers and a healthy Ellis and the D should be productive and more than adequate in the playoffs.
With injuries it is nearly impossible to go undefeated in this game as evidence by the number of times it has actually happened. I have absolutely zero worries about the offense, again same story, healthy guys being back in the lineup = success. At what point point this season did our boys not step up in a big game?? Not one time....the Dallas game you may say? PLEASE! The media hyped that game, it had no affect on our season and Dallas was playing for everything. To sum it all up. RELAX! |
Re: Your Thoughts
Getting healthy right now is the most important thing. A whole new season start in two weeks Vs Dallas or the Eagles.
Mr Roboto, lighten up, please. |

The Saints will be healthy, rested, and at home in two weeks. The pieces are all there for a playoff run. |

Re: Your Thoughts
My thoughts are that I'm pissed off. This game today was very winable. Sean Peyton pissed away an easy win when the Saints needed something positive going into the playoffs. I know they didn't need the win, but they didn't have to just roll over and die when the with the whole country was watching. My thoughts are that Sean Peyton better come out with both barrels blasting, and run something besides all these wimpy plays like he ran today. The last few weeks it looked like the Saints have been struggling, and they probably have been, but today they just didn't want to win, and to me that is unacceptable.
