Wanna vomit...again?

Re-seeding the NFC playoff field - NFL News - FOX Sports on MSN

"Why they won’t win: There is no confidence in kicker Garrett Hartley, and that’s never healthy entering the playoffs. The kid is shaky. Also, teams have figured out left tackle Jermon Bushrod and Brees can’t perform if he’s constantly running for his life."

Are you serious? This is "Why they won't win"?

There have been a lot of kickers that have missed kicks this year and Hartley is hardly the worst offender. And I'm sure our coaching staff has figured out the Bushrod needs help against more elite pass rushers.

The reason I think we might not win?: Poor run defense and our offense getting off to a slow start. And to me those to go hand in hand. If we get off to a fast start teams aren't going to exactly going to grind it out on the ground. If we stall out the gate teams will run it to keep us our offense on the sideline.

I think we'll come out guns a blazing next Saturday at who and whatever happens to be in the way and I'm not sure if there's a team to stop it.

WHO DAT!!!

Re: Wanna vomit...again?

You know Moorestead can kick, right? Because I can see Hartley having a nervous breakdown before the Super Bowl, hyperventilating & going "number nine... number nine...number nine..." and Fujita has to carry him
off the field in a fetal position. We already have a backup plan for kicking.

Anyway, it drives me crazy. Isnt kicking kicking? Punting, FGs--- its all freakin kicking? If you can do one, why cant you just do the other. What else would you do while you were standing around after kicking practice? Practice trick shooting pool shots?

Morestead has practiced both and can do both, and I have a feeling, he's a bit more stable.

We actually have a pretty good backup plan for Bushrod too. Say hello to my little friend:

I thought the same thing when I read this article the other day. Czar picks the Cowboys as winning when THEY are the ones with the throw off kicker that just got fired from one crappy team for missing short field goals and misses a chip shot in his first game for the 'Girls.

:whatever:

This guy is obviously another Cowturds fan trying to get warm fuzzies after their long playoff drought.

Re: Wanna vomit...again?

Let these clowns spew their hot air all they want ... when it comes down to it they don't have a clue to who will win. Most are picking the Cowturds right now because they just beat the Eagles. No different then for the last few weeks the Eagles were the media darlings after the Saints finally lost a game. All season most writers were all over the Saints and Colts now they all think its Cowboys vs Chargers in the Superbowl just cause they are the hot teams right now ..... god I hope the Saints play the Cowboys in the Championship Game just so Drew and knock them back down to earth cause if the Saints play their style of ball, I don't see them hanging with them

Look at it this way:
If Hartley is 'why we won't win', then obviously we are going to win. The guy missed one kick...

I'm not surprised that they don't think we have faith in our kicker. We kept 2 kickers for a good portion of the season. Let them doubt us....we thrive under pressure and doubt.

I'm not sure if it's just perception but it seems like there's been a lot of missed field goals this year.

I blame Nostradamus, and the Mayans 2012 predictions! Maybe it was O.J.? I don't know. What I do know, is that we have basically two weeks to get healthy, get rested, and ready for whoever comes to town. People can blame it on whatever, but playing the blame game, never got anyone anywhere. The rest, will be a MAJOR help for this team guys. Watch and see.

Re: Wanna vomit...again?

1. Hartley has missed ONE, I repeat ONE, kick under 55 yards the entire time he's been a Saint. Granted it was a high profile kick, but heck, I'd rather have him over Suisham any day.

2. Bushrod will be better now that Shockey is back and we can dedicate Dave Thomas to giving him help, rather than having him fill Shock's role as receiving TE. Plus Shock is no slouch blocking, either.

Yup. I said the exact same thing a couple of days ago.

If coach P goes back to the more aggressive play calling then Hartley will only be on the field for PATs.

Re: Wanna vomit...again?

All the pundits are now looking for a way to breakdown the Saints. I think we will see our team again come out with a passion and regain their mid-season form. Hartley blew his kick at Tampa but before that time he has been money. He will redeem himself. Shockey is surely going to help if he can come back strong and Payton may need to keep people in to help. But this to me is B.S. we may see less of Bushrod because he is the one to blame here. Getting beat happens but he should be playing better than he has been playing. At least lay a hand on his opponent and somewhat slow him down. Seems more mental so if he doesn't get it I hope they pull him out.

Simple answer- our D is healthy, and they will play better. Makes a huge difference

Re: Wanna vomit...again?

Here's what I found great about the Hartley comments. We have Nick Folk, former Pro-Bowl kicker for the Cowboys, get cut and replaced by Suisham, who got cut by the Redskins.
Shane Graham misses two kicks in the Bengals loss yesterday.

Yet, the guy they're talking about with kicking is the one that's missed ONE field goal under 55 yards in his career.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong- we have not had all 4 starting DB's on the field for over 2 months. Am I right to say that?? Boy- that will make a difference!

I guess the Cardinals showed last night how to overcome the Idiot Kicker.

cargojon 01-11-2010 08:02 AM

Re: Wanna vomit...again?

Rackers IIRC was a pro-bowl kicker. Gostlowski missed a very makeable kick. Shane Graham/Bengals missed two, one a chip shot.

I think it's high time we leave Hartley alone, and that means you, Mr. Uninformed Media fake-pundit.
