Kinda like the "if I knew then what I know now" idea? Yeah I agree. But it is really strange when my son hands me his cell phone and says "look at the text message I just received". And I can read none it.

A school teacher! Well that doesn't count. He's been to confernces, had special training and been in the text message bunkers so that he can read that stuff.
