McCray's Hit On Warner
I don't know if anyone else saw this. I was watching Sportscenter earlier this evening, and I can't remember the guy's name that was being interviewed, but he made a couple of comments concerning Kurt Warner. He said he had recently spoken with Warner, and he said that Warner was leaning towards retirement because football wasn't fun anymore. He said that we could possibly hear a decision from Warner within the next couple of weeks. This is all speculation, of course, but he talked like Warner was leaning in that direction. The one thing that stuck out in the interview to me was that Warner told him that he had never been more sore after a hit than the one he received from Bobby McCray. I think McCray's hit may have been a factor in speeding up Warner's decision.

Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
Bro, it looked like his wife was crying! That man has like twenty kids too. That's a pretty easy decision to make....

I hope he can land one of those hits on old Brett Farve !!!!!

Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
That hit was crazy.... Kind of feel bad if it's the reason kurt quits but hey its football

Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
It was a legal hit..your taught as a QB to run out of bounds..or this is what happens...

Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
Hey, I'm just saying. If you turn the ball over, and you are trying to make a tackle, you better keep your head on a swivel as a QB. Every defensive player I have ever heard on the subject, always say, "the first person I'm looking for is the QB to block."
Payback for all of those "rules" for roughing the passer. Just desserts in my opinion. |
Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
Clean hit end of story. Nice guy or not it is football. Knock the snot of him. Let see him on the sideline blowing bubble through his nose mumbling, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. If that bothers people then why not put a dress on QBs.

Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
It's football. If you can't take the hits anymore become a coach.

Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
i like kurt warner and wouldnt want anything to force his retirement, but the fact of the matter is HE STOOD IN THE WAY BETWEEN US AND HISTORY. Like the guy above said, its football it happens every week, sometimes they are more brutal than others, but it depends on how much the players want it. And last week, showed how much the black and gold wanted it.

Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
Great hit - If you can't take the hit, stay off the field.
Not sorry to see him go. Great QB or not he has never been one of my favorites. |
Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
Hey I agree it was a clean hit, he should never have been that close to the play and it wouldn't have happened. But take your licks, and make the decision. I have never been a big fan of his, but it is football.

Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
When Kurt took off to tackle the player with the ball he became fair game.
Sorry, those are the rules Kurt. Ouch, that hit looked like a Miata against a train. |
Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
It would be great if both QB's in the NFC playoffs between the Saints and the Superbowl retires after playing the Saints.
That would be a legacy of pain. |
Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
To take a quote from one of the best football players of all time:
Shane Falco "That's why girls don't play the game" Ha!! I love that movie The Replacements. Geaux Saints!!! |
Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
yeah if that was one of the last hits I took and I was thinking should I retire. I'd be putting the paper work into the NFL front office already.
|
Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
I agree. I like Warner, and I usually root for him when we're not playing, but he should not have put himself in harm's way if he weren't prepared to take a big hit. That's just football.

Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
Nothing could help Kurt against the Saints.

Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
Jimmy McGinty: [Danny returns to him with the ball he got in the last play] You got me the ball.
Daniel Bateman: I got you the ball. Jimmy McGinty: You got me the ball. Daniel Bateman: I got you the ball. Jimmy McGinty: [shouts repeatedly] You got me the ball! Daniel Bateman: [shouts repeatedly] I got you the ball! [then whistle blows] Jimmy McGinty: [speaking calmly] Go sit down now, Danny. Daniel Bateman: Okay. [McGuinty then lets out a relieving sigh] |
Re: McCray's Hit On Warner
The cheerleaders in the movie weren't bad either.
