The New Orleans Saints have been credited with helping their beleaguered city recover from Hurricane Katrina. Now they face a much bigger and more critical task — saving America from two weeks of Brett Favre storylines.

As much as the networks are relishing a Favre vs. Peyton Manning showdown in Super Bowl XLIV, that would be a painful experience for the majority of NFL fans, especially in our town. Two weeks of Manning love we can handle — he’s only 2-2 against the Bears in his career and beat them fair-and-square in Super Bowl XLI, his commercials are more entertaining than many Bears games and his first retirement will almost certainly be his last.

enough, enough, enough of brett. we need to take care of bussiness and move on from the brett, brett brett all day all night brett farve saga. its going to be tough enough winning the game not counting all what the refs are taking in from media about his legacy. why can't they just let them play like 20 years ago. now its the saints against the life time achivements awards. unbelievable.

We stopped Kurt Warners dreams of winning this Superbowl. Now let's do the same for Brett Favre. Let's send them both into retirement this year.:popcorn:

The Saints will win, if not but for one reason....America cannot take two more weeks of Favre worship! No way, no how, no, no, no! I would have to take up chess and turn off my tv! It's not gonna happen! I don't even listen to the networks at this point anymore. I've had enough...just wanna whip some Viking booty and get on with the show!

We can only do so much - even if we beat the Vikes, he'll pull his retirement drama again. Then media will be all saying "Did we just see Brett Favre play his last game???"

I do agree with St. Thomas - the refs have to hear all this crap too. What does it do to them?

I mean, they are human (right?) so they have bias also. BUT will the bias be Favre Loven or Favre Hating?? Because, if you notice, there is not a lot of inbetween - love or hate.

If you look at the big picture the striped shirt guys get it right a lot more than they get it wrong. They aren't on the couch next to you drinking a beer.
