Can the Saints save America from 'Favre Fever?'
Comments January 22, 2010 BY MARK POTASH | Commentary The New Orleans Saints have been credited with helping their beleaguered city recover from Hurricane Katrina. Now they face a much bigger and more critical task — saving America from two weeks of Brett Favre storylines. As much as the networks are relishing a Favre vs. Peyton Manning showdown in Super Bowl XLIV, that would be a painful experience for the majority of NFL fans, especially in our town. Two weeks of Manning love we can handle — he’s only 2-2 against the Bears in his career and beat them fair-and-square in Super Bowl XLI, his commercials are more entertaining than many Bears games and his first retirement will almost certainly be his last.
