I would suggest moving away from Dallas.

Re: STILL DISRESPECTED
F**K their respect. I ain't worth nothing to us. Let them hate, let them make excuses. All I care about is winning the big one and I bet you every guy on the Saints team feels exactly the same way.

Re: STILL DISRESPECTED
(rant on) We've never been respected in this league. We've always been the joke. We're 15-3 and 1 game away from being the NFL CHAMPIONS. Count how many times in the next 2 weeks someone in the media mentions "Bags over their heads" or "Aints". That's how they still see us. To them, 2006 was a fluke for us. Sure, after Katrina and the 2005 season, our success on the field made us the "fell good, cinderella" story. But they still didn't respect us. Look how poorly the NFCC game in Chicago was refereed. If there was any way to call something against us, they did. (personal observation here: The league was under pressure to have a 'Black coach in the Superbowl' and sacrificed our season to get one from the NFCC game, and shut the outsiders up. By contrast, look how easy the refs were in the Colts game--the League already had the coach it needed in the SB to shut people up.)
People don't get, or don't want to get that this city and this team have changed. There are very few players left from 2005 here. Our mindset is different. Gone is that "I'm just here to get paid and not do anything" attitude you saw in Aaron Brooks and that lunchbox on the defensive line, who spent more time at the buffets than he did on the field. This is a hungry team. If you don't want to be here, and don't want to play every down, Coach doesn't want you. That's the kind of mindset we've needed here for a long time. So, we can hoist a trophy over Miami, but we still won't get respected, especially if it's at all a close game like last night. You'll only hear how we 'got lucky' or the Colts 'let it slip through their fingers'. The Saints don't need to win this one for respect. We need to win it for the city. For all the fans over the years. For all the teams, both past and present. For ourselves. And F! the world's opinion of us. (rant off) |
Re: STILL DISRESPECTED
Yep, they (media, announcers, refs, etc.) can take their "canned respect" and "ho" it around on all the other teams, handing it out in small measured doses to their favs, or whatever story is hot at the time. What good does it ever do anyone, anyway? We got US...we got our team...we don't need their crappola! ;) WHO DAT!

Re: STILL DISRESPECTED
I was just kidding. (well, not actually about Dallas... but I was joking around with you)
I don't listen to the talking heads that much. I would bet cash they are wrong most of the time. What they say has no bearing on reality. |

I listened to the Tim Brando show on my trip home from New Orleans today. Gotta love the homeboy. He seemed just as sick of hearing about Brett Favre as we do. He kept reiterating how the media is barely talking about the game and mostly about what Favre is going to do. I'm sick of it all, too. There's just nothing we can do about it, because they are going to talk about what they want to talk about....whether we like it or not. |
