NFL would have flagged High Low hit...BS

NFL: Crucial hit on Brett Favre during NFC Championship Game should've been flagged - ESPN

Maybe they're trying to get Favre to not retire by this. Otherwise, you had an experienced ref looking directly at the incident, and there was no contact below the knee.

I'm very disappointed with this call. The NFL should have supported their ref on this one and not suggest that the games outcome should have been different. The hit did not cause the mistake. REversing the mistake would have been a double bail out.

But then, the NFL loves bailouts...

And a couple of other "crucial hits" should not have been flagged.

I give the refs a C- for calling the game as far as the quality of officiating, but an A- for consistency.

Vikings fans need to get over it. Don't turn the ball over 5 times and you would have won. PERIOD.

You know what really matters now is who is going to the big dance...maybe easy for me to say considering it is us.

There will be a meeting prior to the game where the officials will meet and discuss their priority list and what to look for. I have no doubt that eagle eyes will surround Manning, and Brees for that matter, and ANY post release contact, kinetic or intentional, may bring an infraction. The mere heightening of the officials scrutiny in this area will cause flags to fly and possibly change the dynamic and outcome of the game. Its really a shame. I'm still waiting for a QB to pump fake a D-lineman into submission and then make a play only because the guy started pulling-up to avoid a whimpy flag.

It was a penalty that wasn't called but the whole game was poorly called. I hate the "if that's called the Vikings probably win" crap. The game is over and the Saints are going to the Superbowl.

With the havoc that McCray is creating, questionable or not, it seems apparent that the Saints have employed the wrong DE all year in Grant.

Don't know how they can say it should have been called, the lineman pushed McCray in the back as he came around the end and he was falling to the ground when he hit Farve. The pads were still above the knee. And what about the play when Allen tackled Brees and rolled him over by the ankles.

The worst on the night was the personal foul on the muffed punt. This just in, touching a knee to the ground in the NFL doesn't stop the play.

I remember a couple years back, ironically against Minnesota, in that 2-point conversion win, Cullpepper twice motioned like he was going out of bounds and our defenders pulled up, then he took off upfield for a few more yards. The NFL seriously needs to look at that and make up some rules for QBs causing defenders to give up on the play out of fear of a penalty. That would be a subjective call, but a lot of calls in the NFL are subjective.

The NFL didn't want the Saints to get to the Superbowl and the personal foul calls for hits against Favre were all wrong. You can read into this whatever you want. I don't trust the NFL. Ratings are everything to them and it's all about the next buck.

None of that matters now. We're in the Super Bowl. There's nothing they can do to change that. The league and the media don't think we deserve to be where we are. I'm chomping at the bit, waiting to prove them all wrong!

WHO DAT!

the nfl wanted favre v manning super bowl so badly

they wanted nothin more than to have the QB matchup of an all time great in favre and arguably the best of all time(not in my eyes) to face off in the super bowl

it would've been the most watched super bowl in recent memory

it would've boosted their ratings so high and it would've been one of the most memorable super bowls in NFL history.....and the vikings would've been favored or the colts wouldnt be favored by so much

unfortunately.....brett favre lost that game for them and yet the loss still wont go on his shoulders

we won fair and square.....im tired of hearing all this b****ing and moaning

we just beat the 2nd best team in the NFC and arguably the most complete team in the NFL.....now we are heading to the super bowl to face a 1 dimensional team that cant stop anybody

bad memories- I was at that game-- for some reason we a LB on Moss most of the day...

as for the 'bad calls' - HEY MINNESOTA AND THE REST OF THE NON WHO-DAT WORLD Shut the F up and watch the WHOLE game again: zero holding penalties, zero for false start and no roughing penalties on your D. Are you really that disciplined? BULL5H17!!! If you are, the explain the 5 TO's
