Re: NFL tells Buddy Caldwell they aren't interested in Who Dat, Black and Gold and Fleur De Lis
Once again, MONEY rules the day. They saw money and jumped at the chance to get some. Then the possibility of MO MONEY being lost through negative publicity as this thing would spin out of control this week during the media frenzy, caused them to pause and reconsider this stupidity. Please tell me how sending cease and desist orders to local merchants protects the consumer? Everybody knows that WHO DAT is not an official NFL anything! I still hope they take a hit for even trying this crap.

Re: NFL tells Buddy Caldwell they aren't interested in Who Dat, Black and Gold and Fleur De Lis
Great to see LA politicians getting on board for the fight, as well. Although, I would like to buy an NFL quality Who Dat shirt. Every Who Dat shirt I've ever bought from a random vendor ends up chipping and shrinking after the first wash.

Re: NFL tells Buddy Caldwell they aren't interested in Who Dat, Black and Gold and Fleur De Lis
I personally want to thank David Vitter for his immediate response to this with his letter to Roger Goddell and bringing it to the national attention.
Thanks David! WHO-DAT!!!!!!! |
Re: NFL tells Buddy Caldwell they aren't interested in Who Dat, Black and Gold and Fleur De Lis

Re: NFL tells Buddy Caldwell they aren't interested in Who Dat, Black and Gold and Fleur De Lis
I was going to say "who owns the rights to Who Dat?"
I don't see how Goddell could legally stop anybody from making those shirts and long as there's no NFL trade mark on them. |
Re: NFL tells Buddy Caldwell they aren't interested in Who Dat, Black and Gold and Fleur De Lis
The issue is that the NFL claimed that they owned the trademark phrase "whodat," the colors "Black and Gold" and the "Fleur-de-Lis" symbol and any combination of those three on any salable item.
Yeah. douche-bag maneuver to issue cease and desists. And now one can see that without obvious checks, unlimited corporate participation in the election process can bully us average citizens into having no voice. Just think about not having our policians "unbiased" when faced with a similar issue? Maybe this is the last time you see a victory for the small guy. |
Re: NFL tells Buddy Caldwell they aren't interested in Who Dat, Black and Gold and Fleur De Lis
That's right, we bad. Uh Huh. Who Dat!
