NFL tells Buddy Caldwell they aren't interested in Who Dat, Black and Gold and Fleur De Lis
Today, less than a week until Super Bowl XLIV, Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell got involved with the recent controversy where the NFL sent several local New Orleans business owners cease and desist orders to stop selling "Who Dat!" tee-shirts. Today the AG heard back from the NFL which now says it has no trademark interest in the fleur-di-lis, black and gold or the phrase "who dat".
" According to Caldwell, the NFL says it was misunderstood and that the real issue for the league was that it did not want consumers to be confused or misled into thinking that merchandise they were buying was officially licensed with the NFL." - From Fox8Live.com
The issue struck at the heart of this web site, BlackandGold.com, which uses the colors "Black and Gold" in its name and its own fleur-di-lis as web site logo. BlackandGold.com was founded in 1998 as BlackandGold.net. BlackandGold.com is one in the same as BlackandGold.net.
