The biggest "What If?'' of all. Not to jinx or wish ill will on anyone, but imagine the reverberations of the Colts losing Peyton Manning or the Saints losing Drew Brees to injury just five snaps into the Super Bowl, like the Texas Longhorns did their senior quarterback, McCoy, in last month's BCS National Championship Game against Alabama at the Rose Bowl. Advantage who? We're talking about Manning and Brees, the top two vote-getters in this year's MVP balloting.

After watching the Carolina game, I'm not too confident in Brunell. Maybe they give Chase Daniel a go at it, but then again, he hasn't had any real play time.

Either QBs would be better than Painter. While he has the potential to one day be a decent starting quarterback, Curtis Painter still has a lot to learn before he can even be considered for a starting position.

IMO, I'd give the advantage to the Saints.

SAINTS with out a doubt!!!! Painter sux balls and our running game would still be highly effective!;)

I'm not sure about the question...so let me break it down. OK...Drew gets hurt, then we got Brunell against Peyton...edge Colts. If Peyton goes down, they have their back-up...Painter is it??? against Brees...so, edge Saints.

So, unless I'm missing something, it's pretty obvious that if either team loses their QB, the other team will instantly have the edge. Now...if both lose their QB's, then it's a no-brainer that we have the edge, IMO.

All I know for sure is Painter will be saying Novena's that Manning doesn't get pants on the grounditis.

If Manning gets hurt, the Saints have the edge.
If Brees gets hurt, the Colts have the edge.

BUT, what if Drew drops back to throw a pass, the CB blitzes, hitting his hand as he throws, hurting his hand, and then the ball flies out of bounds, straight into Peyton's face, taking out his vision. Then who has the edge? heh heh heh

Curtis Painter wouldn't have been able to beat Alabama either. Colt McCoy might have. Brunnel would have been able to beat Alabama.
