Colts' Caldwell says Freeney is 'healing'
Indianapolis Colts Coach Jim Caldwell called Dwight Freeney's playing status day-to-day, saying Monday that the defensive end is "healing" from the ankle sprain he suffered late in the AFC championship game. But Caldwell said it remains possible that the injury will keep Freeney from playing in Sunday's Super Bowl against the New Orleans Saints. "He hasn't been practicing," Caldwell said at a news conference soon after the Colts' arrival at the Fort Lauderdale airport. "If he's not practicing, we're preparing as if he's not going to play. And then if he gets in there, we'll do something." Read the rest washingtonpost.com |
Re: Article:Indy Media really worried about Freeny
Dude is gonna play, so we all might as well get over that dream lol. He won't be his normal self, but he will play!!!!

Re: Article:Indy Media really worried about Freeny
The Dolts need to be worried about who is healthy on the Saints defense.
Who dat gonna have their pants on the ground? Hint: He wears blue and white and his name is Manning. |
Re: Article:Indy Media really worried about Freeny

Re: Article:Indy Media really worried about Freeny
hopefully this thread will stay on the topic...
If Freeney plays, he will be limited, but a limited Freeney is still better than say, Grant. I agree with everyone who is not reading too much into Freeney not practicing. He's a DE: there's the QB, there's the fast RB, there's the faster one, and there's the inexperienced OT you are going up against. Practice over. Freeney in / Freeney out won't change our game plan. Teams make adjustments on the fly every game. |
Re: Article:Indy Media really worried about Freeny
Freeney my bet will be at maybe 60-70% come game time, will see action in for sure long yardage passing downs. It will hurt the Colts to a degree, but they can still get the job down and keep the Saints to fewer then 28 pts.

That may work, but I'm guessing if you keep us to 28 pts, our D will keep you guys to less. Hell, even 1 pt less works for me. :bng: |
Re: Article:Indy Media really worried about Freeny
Since the Dallas trick where Ware wasn't supposed to play, I don't believe anything they say. (And then there was the Viking with the headaches). Ha! Freeney will play. No letting our guards down on that one!

Re: Article:Indy Media really worried about Freeny
His injury takes more than 2 weeks to heal. He may be one bad dude but, unless he has something against Kryptonite he's gonna be hampered. I hope he tries to play and can't.....the psychological edge would then go to the Saints.:bng:

Re: Article:Indy Media really worried about Freeny
Right now the Colts are already planning defensive schemes without DF in the game, so anything they can get from him will be a bonus. Not having him will hurt, but we will be able to make changes that will still cause the saints issues.

Still don't trust them. Seems some of them maybe OVER-REPORT on an injury, and then have a miraculous last minute healing just before the game.

Re: Article:Indy Media really worried about Freeny
Did you guys SEE the ankle? It looked like he had big ring under the skin, around his ankle. I understand wanting to play in the superbowl, but does he really want to chance messing himself up to a worse degree? One thing I know about sprains, is that it makes it even easier to break. Imagine how long it would take to recover from an ankle break. I just think he should sit. He has the rest of his career to play, and with the way the Colts fans are talking, they don't need him anyway.

Re: Article:Indy Media really worried about Freeny
He will play but he will be limited also. An injury like that will prevent him form making quick turns & should cut down on his speed.

Re: Article:Indy Media really worried about Freeny
I remember I had a bad sprain once. I walked on crutches for a month, and my ankle turned blue, purple, green, and black! Just knew it was broken, but it wasn't. But there are a lot of varying degrees of sprains!
