The answer to this might already be posted, but I don't want to pilfer through the arguements...
Does anyone know what Green's role is going to be? Is he a back-up or are we looking to start him over Bellamy? THX |

Back-up for now.

Green will start in a couple of games from now. He has more speed then Jay. But for now Jay is the man. ;) Also Green is a hard hitter he causes other teams to fumble the ball.

doesn\'t victor green have a superbowl ring?
|
V. Green
Yes he does , from when the Patriots won it a few years ago.

that\'s what i thought, how much playing time did he get with the Pats?
|
V. Green
A pretty good bit I think. I believe he split time with Milloy or Jones. I really don\'t remember which one.

do you think he will be better than bellamy, or even Mitchell? do you think he will get the starting nod over Mel next season?

I think the way Jay is playing right now he\'ll be hard to get out of the defense. But some of us were saying during the preseason we\'d like to see the Saints pick Victor up for depth. This guy has experience but he\'s in his 10th season. I find it hard to think he\'ll be a starter next year.

Only Mitchell hits a little harder! What a sh***ty injury. I think he was destined for greatness. :( |

the reason i ask all of these stupid questions, is because i have only been watchin the NFL since mid 1999 season, so i know a lot about football, but for me there is still a lot to be learned, beleive it or not, before the saints signed Victor, i had never even heard of him.

i agree that jay is playing some good ball right now but.....
i wonder if the chemistry between T-Buck and green would help the secondary, those guys played together for a good length of time as far as nfl standards go, they know each others habits and abilities remeber in training camp when T-Buck and mitchell got into a fight, it was a result of arguing over coverage assignments |

Hold on. Time Out!
Am I hearing people say that Jay Bellamy is playing great right now? Are you guys serious?!?! Bellamy made a couple of big hits last game, yes. He also got juked out of his pants by DAVID CARR on GOAL LINE D, and still missed a few tackles last week. In week one he showed why he is the Saints all-time missed tackle leader. I think Bellamy is poo. He consistently misses tackles, and while he rarely gets flat out burned deep, he also rarely makes plays. I don\'t see him breaking up many passes, in fact, I usually see him rolling off receivers backs as they break free. Victor Green is a good safety. He\'s played with T-buc. Give him a couple of games to learn the system and he\'ll be the starter. |

Whodat, my brother, you know I usually agree with you on every subject but I think you\'re only watching passing downs. You do remember that there are running plays too? He has done very well against the run. That is in my opinion. :P

V. Green
That\'s not an opinion Joe. That\'s a fact.

Let\'s all get real, why aren\'t we just starting Brooks at safety. He\'s the greatest football player who ever lived, he can play both ways. He\'s big, fast, with unlimited athletic POTENTIAL. So why can\'t he start at safety?
|
V. Green
Since we\'re being totally moronic. I completely agree! AB for safety! We now can start the chant. :P Billy, will you lead us? :o

no, how bout this, why don\'t we replace the injured Dale Carter with AB, and let Fred Thomas play QB instead, LOL

I can remember two plays when Bellamy came up and was really involved in a run. One was when the Texans were deep in their own territory. He delivered a big hit in the backfield or at the line and jumped up and down and got all excited. The next play I remember he was busy wiping turf out of his facemask and trying to find out where his shoes went... that was right after Carr scored.
I don\'t know how Bellamy can be good against the run if he is the world\'s worst tackler. Don\'t you actually have to tackle a guy to be considered good against the run? |
