You know what's great? (Besides the Obvious)
is that our win last night in SB 44 was a real team win. I mean, Brees won MVP, but as it became more and more likely we would win I started wondering: Who's the MVP?
Think about it. None of our backs was dominant. PT had like 30 yards rushing, and one hell of a nice screen turned 16 yard TD. Bush had some nice runs. On the drive that put us up 5 (and later 7), Brees hit something like 7 different receivers - 8 if you count Moore's 2pt conversion catch. And then there's our kickers. Hartley had 3 40+ yard FGs. Morstead kicked a perfect on side kick to start the second half. Jeesh.... Vilma played a fanTASTIC game, as did our corners. 1 near miss int by Jenkins. Greer had one except for the Offensive PI call, and then of course there's Porter's pick six. The O line was fantastic pass blocking last night, and I think had we would have run the ball much better had we focused on it or needed to. We gave up some Runs early but switched tactics and settled down. Coaching was outstanding. Special Teams won the battle all night. So, I mean, who's the MVP? Really. I guess it's Brees. He's the leader after all, and I believe we go as he goes. What a TEAM win! A TEAM Championship! :bng: |

I like the MVT idea - BUT I would make a huge argument for SP to get MVP. I Know a coach has never won it but...
