J. Peppers
Wouldnt it be cool if we could trade C. Grant for him straight up. We would prob have to add someone else in there as well. Our team would be in beast mode.
Who are ya'lls favorite rookie DE's? I think that will be our first pick or Tim Tebow. LOL |

brandon graham from michigan......its probably because im a homer and UM is my team

Re: J. Peppers
We don't need nor most of us would even want Tebow.
Seriously. You gonna get rid of Cool Brees? |
Re: J. Peppers
He could help us stay on top.......but I doubt that we could afford him with or without throwing Grant in the mix.
|
Re: J. Peppers
You folks are far too anxious to get rid of Grant.

I WANT PEPPERS!
WE ALL SHOULD WANT PEPPERS! |
Re: J. Peppers
We don't need Peppers. I would prefer Carlos Dunlap or Derrick Morgan and stick with youth. Or maybe stick with McCray and take Jason Pierre-Paul since he needs a good year to develop IMHO.

If we concentrate on defense in the draft, we could collect additional rings for the rest of our fingers. |
Re: J. Peppers
I love to get Peppers for a lift towards 2010 Super Bowl championship! Plus, it hurts a division rival.
|
Re: J. Peppers
Just remember we have not seen what Stanley Arnoux can do yet. Apparently he has something for us to draft him in the first place. As far as Tebow is concerned that is at least interesting. Can you imagine what we would have after he mentored under Brees for about 3-4 years. He is smart, athletic and a motivator.

Re: J. Peppers
pepper's could throw us right back in the super bowl. barring we don't lose to many on the offence
|
Re: J. Peppers
not only do we need a de, we could use a run stopper hole plugger
|
Re: J. Peppers
There was actually something from ESPN Pat Yaskinsas discussing his conversation with another writer and if the Saints should go for Peppers. I wouldn't mind having Peppers to step into Grant's spot if...IF Peppers would play like he does when he actually gives a damn out on the field.
My only concern is that the guy might not get his way halfway through the season or maybe next year and start being all big baby like T.O. |

Re: J. Peppers
I'd say this: if GW wants Peppers, I want Peppers.
I have posted many times about Peppers and how he tends to disappear in games. IF Gregg Williams thinks he can motivate Peppers to bring it every game, then sure, it would be a huge upgrade. |
Re: J. Peppers
This is the thing... if the possibility of obtaining a ring(and a very good one at that) isn't enough for Peppers to motivate himself, Williams isn't going to do jack for him. He's made tons of money in his career and with being 30 now, if winning is that important to him, I'd take take a little less money(shave off a mil or two, nothing ridiculous) if the Saints were to come knock on my door.

Re: J. Peppers
My guess is they'll find a "Colston" on the Dside of the ball instead.
Some unknown who turns out to be a phenom, is what I mean. I like Pepper. I also like Grant. He helped get us to the big show regardless if ya'll will admit that. Grant isn't a bad D lineman. Most teams would drool at the chance for a Grant. |

Re: J. Peppers
Peppers would be a nice addition, but the guy is going to cost some major bucks. Not to mention with the free agency rules for the top teams, no idea if this would really be a possibility.

Re: J. Peppers
Recently re-visited this site after long absence. I think I posted a new thread about Peppers; will repeat the idea here.
I suggest going after Peppers, offering much less money than any other team might, but offering the position of part time wide receiver. He's as fast as or faster than most receivers. In 2003 or 2004 he played receiver in a few situations, but with a group that seems coached like a sandlot team rather than the way the Saint's coaches go. Last year at this time he wanted out of Carolina so he could reach his potential; some said this meant a chance to play linebacker in a 3-4. But he might not even realize how he'd jump at the chance to play some offense. He has had like a 97 yd interception return not for a touchdown; no one caught up with him till he gave out and fell at the 1 or 2 yard line. He also once batted a Mike Vick pass as he went by him and continued on with it for a td. But from my observation, teams run his end successfully. |
Re: J. Peppers
We dont need Peppers!!!! Let someone else pay that bill!!!! We will be fine through the draft and with others via free agency who wont cost us losing other key players!!!;)
Dynasties build through the draft and with great coaching. |

Re: J. Peppers
There's a lot of people saying the Saints will have to pay big bucks for this and that. But I think the Saints are in an enviable position where they offer less than others because of what they are - a BIG SB XLV prospect.
