Reggie Bush Twittered a bad experience on Bourbon street to the world.. "Ouch"

Reggie Bush just twittered to the entire world what happened..
One of the girls that were shot were shot right in front of his Balcony and he said Police didn't do anything and the people kept on partying as if nothing happened..
Reggie Bush (reggie_bush) on Twitter
Reports on NOLA.com later posted NOPD reported 2 women were wounded by bullets fired.. no one had any fatal wounds.

Is this a black eye for New Orleans? Or just another day of Mardi Gras we all know all to well and Reggie is just overreacting?

It just the nature of things down there during "fest" weekends. I remember during Bayou Classic weekend, four people were wounded in a gun battle right in front of my hotel. Too bad you don't have to walk through a metal detector to get to Bourbon Street.

I can’t speak for what Reggie Saw
As far as the NOPD they move down that street as fast as they can and it’s a huge crowd to contend with

As far as people just partying like it never happened well that I can see
Some just don’t care (as we have seen so many times in the past)
And others were more then likely so drunk they didn’t even notice

that's why I don't go to the quarter during things like this
"The Classic" <----- ----- especially this one anyone with half a brain would not find themselves dead in the quarter for this event or they just might end up dead!!!
No!!!!
That's not a joke. I know first hand, because I use to work down there every year for this event at LFHC and they use to jack the price up 40 bucks a head because things would get so out of control during that weekend.

But didn't they move The Classic to FL?

When you get that many drunks together someone is going to get upset. And we all know that drinking leads to gun play.........the gunman must have been drinking 'cause there were no fatalities. That's not a very good aim. Seriously though, I'm glad no one died.

Fortunately, the type of people that carry guns to Bourbon Street prefer those little .25 cal guns that don't have enough power to pierce the chest plate and do very much damage. None of the four from Bourbon Classic weekend had serious wounds either, as I remember.

Do you think that was really Reggie? I saw something like this on Facebook this a.m. (am a fan on FB of Reggie and many other Saints). Usually, the FB posts don't sound like they are actually coming out of the player's mouths.

If he twittered it, that may be different, who knows...

Well thats his official twitter account and it's verified by the twitter personal, they take authenticating celebrities and important people very seriously, not just "anyone" can get a "Verified" put on their twitter accounts..

There are a few players on FB who are on my friends list (they're the actual players, I did my research ;)) I know that Reggie doesn't have a personal page, but I think he has a fan page that's linked to his Twitter account, which is his verified account.

Would this matter any more - or less - if, oh, I don't know, "I" twittered this info? Is this a big deal because someone got shot, or is this a big deal because Reggie Bush twittered that someone got shot? Beyond the fact that someone got shot, I just don't see why this matters.

I think it matters because one of our beloved saints supposedly just bad mouthed our city in so many words.

Well, with the way a lot of so called fans have ragged on Reggie the last couple of years, it's no wonder he hasn't developed a closer relationship with the people the fans and the city.

As for the girls getting shot and the police not reacting, it's quite possible that they didn't hear anything with all the mardi gras noise and partying going on. I have to say I don't know what's gotten into people down there with all this killing and all. When I was there we were a lot tighter community with a lot less violence. I'm very sad about the way things have gone since the hurricane. Instead of correcting things and bringing that city back to something special that it could and SHOULD be, it's reverted to something even worse. It really breaks my heart.
