I'm going to play devils advocate (what a surprise) and pose this:
Now, Sharper thinks he deserves (with some great deal of supporting logic based on performance) that he should be maxing out his comp for that duration. He did indicate that he would take a reasonable offer from the Saints as long as it was somewhat commensurate with what Pro Bowl safeties were getting (2.5-4 million). I'd be upset with the Saints, too. |

I'm really puzzled by this entire subject. Uncapped year, pay the man! He earned it. He played his butt off for this club, and deserves at least two more years with the team, if not four. He EARNED it. I reallize that this is a foreign concept in the league these days, but that doesn't mean it's extinct.
