New Orleans Saints have signed fullback Zak Keasey
 

Doug Tatum, The Times-Picayune-The New Orleans Saints have signed fullback Zak Keasey, formerly of the San Francisco 49ers, to a 1-year contract, Keasey's agent, Glenn Schwartzman, confirmed. The deal was inked Monday.

The Saints have not updated their roster with Keasey or listed the transaction on the team's web site. We will be reaching out to the team for confirmation and comment and will update NOLA.com.

The 6-foot, 235-pounder is a Princeton graduate who played for Washington in 2005 and for the 49ers in 2007 and 2008. He did not play last season.

Camp body, we'll be seeing a bunch of guys being signed for this position since Kyle Eckel will most likely be gone (not because we don't like him but he has to do his duty for this country, he'll most likely be shipped out soon.. Im surprised the Navy didn't send for him earlier..)

I'll be very happy to have Heath Evans back. Does anybody know how old he is? I'm thinking he's around 30 years old. I'm hopeful that we can pull some camp bodies in who have good potential. I've got a lot of faith in our scouting department.

Bryan Heath Evans (born December 30, 1978 in West Palm Beach, Florida) is an American football fullback for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2001 NFL Draft. He played college football at Auburn.

Evans has also played for the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots.
