I wonder what the Saints are going to do for the backup qb position. Brunell is a free agent and aging.

Agreed- great info

What's the significance of the similarities in the dollar amounts of the offers?

Anybody else thinks Harper's tender was too high? I think a 2nd-round tender would have been sufficient to keep him.

Let me get this straight, We're going to keep Mark Brunell who is older than Sharper, and may be the highest paid Holder in the League, and let Sharper walk, who was responsible for 9 ints (3 run back for TDs) and was a catalyst to our defense turning around and making it to the Super Bowl and also a teacher and mentor to the young dudes???? Sign Sharper, he's still got some gas in his tank.

Yeah wassup with letting Sharper test the market. I do understand by him having a big year = $$$ for him but hopefully we can resign him without breaking the bank. The risk is his age and of course will he still be motivated to put up the same numbers he put up last season. He's at a point in his career (towards the end) where he may go after the big money because he already got his Super Bowl ring. Nothing more to prove.

Personally I think they should pay Sharper too but you know the coaches know alot more about his ability then we do and like I said before I don't think he received any other offers last year except ours. I think we should go after a quality backup that can learn from Brees and take over in 5 or 6 years.
