Jamal Williams Reportedly Visiting Saints in NOLA today! *MERGE* update Signs with Denver
Per LaCanfora Twitter
The Denver Broncos may have allowed another free agent to slip through their fingers. Former San Diego Chargers defensive lineman Jamal Williams is expected to visit the New Orleans Saints later today, reports NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora. Williams was working out with the Broncos Monday; La Canfora’s tweet would suggest that Williams has left or will leave Denver without a contract. (other source) |

Sign him.
I know he is old but there are not nor will there be many young FAs this year. He has been very productive in the past. Just use him in rotation to keep him fresh/healthy Draft for the position too and presto you have depth. |

I really think that we are looking at these older guys and thinking that with Drew at the peak of his career, and the core that we have...all we really need out of these older vets is one maybe two good years. So while my first inkling is to scoff at the thirtysomethings we are bringing in, I'm starting to think it's not such a bad idea after all.
I trust the powers that be, but would love so much to be a fly on the wall during these meetings that our FO/coaching staff is having. |

Jamal Williams joins Denver's defensive line makeover Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on March 9, 2010 5:51 PM ET Josh McDaniels is creating his very own "Over the Hill Gang" on Denver's defensive line. The Broncos agreed to terms Tuesday on a three-year deal with nose tackle Jamal Williams, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The news will sting in San Diego, where the Chargers wanted to re-sign the 3-4 run plugger at a lower cost after releasing him. Williams was also scheduled to meet with the Saints. Williams is the third defensive lineman signed since Friday that is over 30, joining Justin Bannan and Jarvis Green. Bannan and Williams will split time at nose tackle, which should improve Denver's lackluster rush defense. |
