Re: Anderson as Brees backup?
I'm sure Anderson wants to start. But, coming the Super Bowl Champions for one year, learning from Brees and Payton, and who knows being one injury away, maybe leading a team loaded on offense back to the playoffs and beyond, certainly would not be the worst idea. Make it happen Loomis. Brunell and Daniel are not the answer to a worst case scenerio.

Re: Anderson as Brees backup?
Let me just throw this out there....the thing about Delhomme is this: He's made it clear that he hates the Saints. He's said that to me on MySpace more than once when he would actually chat with you. So...do we really want a guy who hates our organization as our backup? Something to think about!

Re: Anderson as Brees backup?
In Anderson's defense.... when they started cheering that he got hurt.....I'd say "screw 'em too".
As far as him being the back up, (even though my opinion doesn't sway the FO).... Yeah, I'd take him. |

Re: Anderson as Brees backup?
To quote Strato (again) "Pass on the Coonass". I would feel much better about Andersen than I would with him or Brunel behind Brees. Not sure he would expect to start anywhere. Even so, he may feel backing up for the Saints is better than starting for the Raiders.

Re: Anderson as Brees backup?
Anderson might not be a bad pickup for us. If he comes cheaply I can't see any real reason to not bring him in except he is not an accurate passer(being kind). Not sure who else might be available.

Derek Anderson has all the tools to start in this league. Too bad he was stuck in Cleveland. St. Louis should take a chance on him. He would make a great backup here though. |
