Saints credited with 98 "Hurries".

Counting QB pressures and hurries - NFC South Blog - ESPN

The new stat, I guess. It's not about sacks anymore. We did bring the wood from everywhere this year. Here's to hoping we bring more "Remember Me Shots" next year!

Ok - It isn't an official stat BUT I do see the idea behind this. QB Pressure leads to happy feet & happy feet leads to bad/hurried throws & bad/hurried throws leads to ints & fumbles, so.....

We still don't have much of a pass rush. Being the best in the NFC South isn't saying much. If you look at the over all league stats the NFCS was close to the bottom.

We need a beast of DE to go with Smith. Then you factor in McCray in rotation and that's scary.

Pants on the ground stats are so fun to look at.

Defense wins Super Bowls.

There's not another fan base in the NFL that gets as involved in their team as we do:

Watch 'Favre on the ground' music videos, upload your own | New Orleans Saints Central - - NOLA.com

the buccs had 154 QB hurries......

we did really well this year with our pass rush

i know u guys dont really understand this sometimes, but usually defensive ends that play in grants position dont get that many sacks

its just hard to hunt down QBs from their front side when they can see you coming

No one on this thread had made any comments about the number of sacks Grant had. Why did you have to throw a blanket insult out there to try and make yourself look smart? So, you appear to be defending Grant. Do you think he lived up to what the Saints paid him and should he not have been released?

Defense and the guts to pull off an onsides kick to start the second half.

2 different questions

do i believe he played up to his contract.....the easy answer is no

do i believe he is talented enough to be a starter on this team.......yes

how many strong side ends do we hear about on ESPN?

robert mathis and ray edwards? who else?

you hear about defensive ends when they get sacks......just because grant doesnt get sacks doesnt mean he isnt doing his job

ray edwards gets very little attention because there are 3 other beasts on that defensive line that most offensive coordinators would rather worry about.......robert mathis gets most of his numbers from the weak side but when he does get his sacks from the strong side, its usually because dwight freeney beat his man too and the QB has nowhere to go

heres a quick little drill you can do at home.......have your wife/gf/husband/whatever run at you. you can probably get out of the way if you so choose

now heres a twist.......turn around......then have them run at you again.....try to get out of the way without turning around

it sounds stupid but thats the principle of the argument at hand
