Position Breakdown: Quarterback
Current Depth: Drew Brees, Mark Brunell, Chase Daniel
|
Re: Position Breakdown: Quarterback
could always be better but we got some good quality depth at QB with a proven vet and a sophomore to be groomed
|
Re: Position Breakdown: Quarterback
Drew Brees no one is better, yeah we could use a upgrade from brunell. I do like Chase Daniels
|
Re: Position Breakdown: Quarterback
Now is about the right time to draft an heir if it's not Daniels; cause you won't have a better example ever from which to learn...

Re: Position Breakdown: Quarterback
Tony Pike if he still their late in the second round.
|
Re: Position Breakdown: Quarterback
Brees - awesome (obviously) Brunell ehhh... Chase ???
So we could use someone. |
Re: Position Breakdown: Quarterback
Damn all these polls make me dizzy
|
Re: Position Breakdown: Quarterback
Don't think its time to draft an heir just yet. It would not surprise me to see Brees play 5-6 more years if he stays healthy. I would like to see us develop younger guys however that we can trade for picks. We need a stronger veteran backup also.

Re: Position Breakdown: Quarterback
I would love to see Chase Daniels play some. I was hoping that he would get to play against the Carolina Panthers, but it didn't happen. He put up some pretty impressive numbers at Mizzou and I wonder if working with Drew is helping him to improve even more.

Re: Position Breakdown: Quarterback
I do not understand why people are not more concerened about the qbs on the roster. Chase is unproven and Brunell is 900 years old and would be a good coach only. I consider Shaun Hill, Anderson, Kolb and others like them to be backups. Brunell liked to of got Meachem murdered the last game of the season.

when he gets hit it usually isnt a hard hit and the rules now prevent you from driving the QB into the ground unless he gets a non contact injury i cant foresee an injury having said that, why is brunell's age such a huge factor.....why couldnt he fill in for a few games if drew goes down? we now have a running game and we have some solid starters in jeremy shockey and marques colston for him to throw to he doesnt have to be an all pro......we have been seriously spoiled by drew's play and there isnt a single backup in the league that could do what drew does......there will always be a drop off.....thats why they are backups |
Re: Position Breakdown: Quarterback
[QUOTE=CantonLegend;213382]one of the main reasons im not concerned and i can only speak for myself, is that over the past few seasons(not including last) drew was the least sacked QB in the league

But this is a HUGE dropoff. |
Re: Position Breakdown: Quarterback
It's probably too early in Drew's career to draft his replacement. What we need is a QB like Kolb from Philly. I really liked him when he stood in for McNabb, however I doubt he'll be available. Surely the FO has people looking into a short term experienced QB who can replace Brunell since he didn't play well in clean up.

secondly.....QBs can be put into a good system like in philly......kolb is talented, but he also has stud receivers, a great pass blocking offensive line, and a talented running back corps was matt cassell a great QB? no but he was put into a system that worked and forced him to not make mistakes.....he didnt make mistakes and so he was given a starters job in kansas city same thing with kolb. dude got opportunities to start against 2 of the worst pass defenses in the league and still threw 3 INTs in 7 career games played he has thrown an INT per game and has only 4 TDs....2 against us and 2 against KC......not exactly pro bowl numbers |

Re: Position Breakdown: Quarterback
The Drew Brees FA signing has now surpassed the Reggie White signing as the greatest FA signing in the history of the NFL and possibly of all USA professional sports...
Now is Chase gonna be ready in 3-4 years or do we snag a man now?!? |
