The Eagles are expected to sign restricted free agent RB Mike Bell to an offer sheet this week.
The sides have reportedly begun contract talks, and beat writer Les Bowen believes Bell will be signed to an offer sheet if he "checks out physically, avoids getting arrested during his visit, and shows an aptitude for learning Andy Reid's offense." The Saints' low tender suggests they may not be up for matching offers.

Personally, I liked the dude. He played with "cahones". I don't know about Hamilton. Wasn't he just a practice squad player who got on the roster when other guys were out?

because hes big, plows through the line, and wears the right cleats.

every sound byte they have of bell and coach payton...payton is yelling at him for something. bell must be a bonehead, which may be the reason he disappeared toward the end of the season.

We have Donaldson on the Practice Squad ... and maybe we can reclaim PJ Hill. Plus who knows who we can pick as UDFA's this year.

Horrible scenario for us, we would look like A-holes to other players in the league and newcomers low-ballin our players after they were directly responsible for us getting Rings.. :-(

It's pretty much what we have Pierre Thomas locked into next year. I doubt they match, but I have been wrong before. Just not often. ;)

The Saints could always tell the Eagles, look we are going to match that offer if you don't give up a 7th round draft pick. That's how I would play it. It's only a one year deal.

I like Bell, but I always thought his size (or lack therof) didn't match his style of running. Just seems like he runs like a pounder but doesn't have the bulk to protect himself from that kinda constant contact.

I could be wrong, but I don't think I'd bring him back at 1.7 per. I think he's the kind of player that spends a lot of time rehabbing.

Like I said, I don't think the Saints will match, but they should at least TRY to bluff the Eagles into thinking they will match and try to get a 7th rounder out of them. Loomis and Payton have shown what they can do with late round draft picks.

Bell did well as a role player in the best offense in the NFL. I like Bell, I like the way he runs, but he's not going to make or break the Saints, either on the field, or in the Saints' ability to sign future players.

Let him go, the Saints can find a suitable replacement. I like Bell but he is injured just a bit too much.

Honestly I haven't had many issues with what we have done so far(or the lack therein) but this one troubles me a bit. I think for the money he is a good off the bench back. Did Westbrook sign anywhere yet?

Give me Bell over Westbrook. Bell would cost less and provide more in my opinion. Westbrook has a lot of miles and adding his new concussion issues to his leg problems he must be avoided. I would be very skeptical if the Saints brought him on board.

I'd rather have Fargas.
