Tebow didnt win the heisman because he was playing for florida.
He won it because he had 50 total touchdowns on the year, 24 rushing 26 passing, Must say very impressive for a QB much less a QB thats making all that happen in the SEC. Tebow is a workhorse!

if he was a third or fourth rounder, then I wouldn't have an issue with it. He could learn alot from Drew.

He still has the ability to throw the ball. If you don't believe that, then you probably haven't watched him very much. I had an opportunity to stand directly behind a receiver he was throwing to while warming-up, and that's all it took for me.

Lot's of QB's have weird throwing motions...some made it...some didn't. Some that did...Jergensen, Kosar, Archie Manning, Rivers...to name a few. I actually never noticed anything wrong with his motion, as I had with the others, and it had to be pointed-out to me...recently by all the hoopla...but then again I am no pro scout.

I concede that there is a possiblity that he won't make it...I just think he will. Like I said before...we will all see in the next few years and all we have to do is sit back and wait. Oh...and I'll be saying, "I told ya so..." :)

OK. I get it. You're a gator fan. Whatever. As an LSU fan I've watched this guy a lot, on TV and twice at Tiger Stadium. Nothing he did well at florida translates to success in the NFL. He doesn't have a strong arm. He's not very bright (as shown by the wonderlic test). Running quarterbacks don't fare well in the NFL unless they have a strong arm to back it up (See John Elway). Don't worry. I'm sure some team will take him to sell tickets. I just hope it's not us.

Re: How would people feel if we drafted Tebow?

I know why I hate him - Because he is a Gator.

I also don't like the fact the rules were changed for him & he was allowed to put the bible verses on his under-eye tape.

I have no problem with relgion I just do not want it shoved in my face every chance someone gets.

PLUS - I do not see him as a true NFL QB. He still ha snot taken many snaps form under cneter & (at this point) no NFL team plays entirely form the shotgun.

Exactly right.
He is a great athlete, but will not be a great QB. Had he gone elsewhere and played LB or TE he might be a number 1 pick, but he is late 2nd for a patient team at best

These are more reasons that i hate him that i forgot about

Sounds like a lot of upset Tiger fans to me that have a dislike for someone they couldn't beat. With that said, I'm against drafting him also but because we don't need to draft a QB this year.

So you're saying he would have had that success playing for Vanderbilt?

He cried after the ole miss game too. I didn't know there was crying in football.

Re: How would people feel if we drafted Tebow?

I have only seen brief glimpses of Tebow so I don't have any feeling towards this guy (although some people do seem to hate him for no reason) I couldn't care less if he can throw a ball through concrete or can run all over the field. What I want to know is; Is he accurate? How cerebral is he? and does he possess leadership qualities? and if he does, can he transfer it to the pros? We all know that Payton runs a complex system and to be honest, I feel that very few quarterbacks out there could do it justice. So, even those that seem to dislike him, what is he like as a player (I do know that we're not necessarily aiming for him but would like to hear some opinions)

Re: How would people feel if we drafted Tebow?

Ill take this one, Although I am not a believer of Tebow as a pro Quaterback , and i dont particularly care for the media love affair whit him., I do respect his on field accomplishments. I have seen him run head up into some stiff deffenders and keep going. He is one of a select few Quaterbacks who play the position like a running back. I think he is a tough KID. I think he has football smarts. ( No matter what the wonder lick says) I do not prescribe to that test as having any credability. I think this kids ego will cost him millions. If he were to be willing to play TE for example he could be a above average talent, as a quaterback he is destined to a Grossmanesque (Rex) type carreer. I am an Alabama fan but I live in Louisiana and watch alot of football. My neighbor is from florida and is a HUGE Florida fan. I say this to say that I have seen MANY Tebow games through outhis whole career at florida. I just havent seen adequate progression as a Quaterback from him, but have seen the development of a football player. Thias is why I think a position switch is best for the next level.

Drew Brees cried after the Superbowl.

I can tell you one thing; It's going to make the NFL draft interesting. He could go anywhere from the number 5 pick to undrafted. I hope he doesn't show up in person as he was invited to do. Can you imagine having to watch the pain and anguish he's going to go through with every pick and the commentators saying that every pick is going to be Tebow for however long it takes?

He'd be a fool to show at the draft for that very reason.

I still cringe when I think of Brady Quinn's expression being close-up'd every time he got passed on.

there are lots of great mobile QBs that not only succeed in the league, but end up in the pro football hall of fame

just because he can run doesnt mean he has to. i love to watch QBs run because it shows how heads up they are......if the WRs arent open, why force it? if you can get a few guaranteed yards with your feet is it worth it to risk an INT? maybe not

this means nothing to you guys probably, but i watched my younger brother cry after losses for years during his high school career.....IMO he is the most dedicated football player i have ever met and the reason i think he cried.......because he worked so hard durring practice and left it all out on the field and it still wasnt good enough

you'd never see him smile after a loss.....why should he? you play to win....and despite all his hard work and all his dedication, sometimes it just wasnt enough

how terrible would you feel at work if you worked on this huge project for months....had everything perfected.....and then at the presentation something gets screwed up and the whole project is ruined? you would've done all that work for nothing

thats how he felt after a game and i imagine thats how tebow felt after those games

No tebow couldnt have won the heisman at vanderbilt but florida couldnt have been champs without him

I'll 4th it just for freshness. nobody's "whining," just pointing out a tired internet cliche. Used sparingly, its kind of funny. Indiscriminately, it begins to sound "15." But enough on that....

If we're gonna puke pea soup over Tebow, how bout some substance? perhaps:

- "His arm is questionable."
- "He has no experience in a pro style offense."
- "His team around him decimates his opposition, leaving him untested."
- "A number of scouts are questioning his ability to read & react."
- "Because he cusses underclassmen, and pops equipment managers with towels."
- "Because f*** Florida, thats why!"

Which are much more credible than:
- "becaue he smiles/cries/perspires."
- "because he loves Jesus and dares to say so." (how many players name themselves "Mohammed?"-- I say no harm, no foul.)
- "because he's "All American," and I like my heros subversive and melancholy."

Drew Brees is clean & articulate too, smiles a lot, has a lovely wife, seems to love America, and even dares to mention God. --and nobody in New Orleans had a Linda Blair attack when he speaks. So lets enjoy some beignets and be glad there are puppies & kittens.

At least if the guy espouses values, maybe he wont be distracted by strip clubs, baby-mamas, and gun violence? maybe? After some personal self soul-evaluation for some of us, I think the prime question we ask is, "Can he help us win?"

I'm not sure I trust a guy that isn't distracted by strip clubs...I mean...he doesn't have to go in a touch anything, but he should at least be distracted, right? lol

As for how would I feel if the Saints drafted Tebow? the current FO and coaching staff just delivered a Superbowl in 4 years against higher odds than anyone ever, just about anything they have done personnel-wise has turned to gold, so if they decide they wanted Tebow, I'd be all for it.

..oh, and the bed must be on the floor!
