Where did you see that? I can't find it anywhere and all my sources are recovering from hangovers.

heard on ESPN that falcons are out of the running and the most likely opponent is now minnesota

of course it could really be any of our NFC opponents but according to Adam Schefter, the vikings are the most likely of all the opponents now and it would be great for the league since it was arguably the most entertaining game in the entire season last year

Re: Saints Vs Viking Sept 9

It will be the Vikes, although if Favre doesn't come back the NFL will have a ton of egg on it's face for not choosing the Falcons.

Budsdrinker 03-22-2010 02:35 PM

Re: Saints Vs Viking Sept 9

I'm not sure about the vikes. Everyone will already be watching the game because it is the first game of the year. Why not save Saints vs Vikes later on for a Sunday night game.

Re: Saints Vs Viking Sept 9

The NFL wouldn't be that stupid to pit Saints against a team unsure about it's QB situation, if Favre doesn't return the ratings will be subpar.

I don't think this announcement is official, but if so it's gonna be real ugly in ratings if his almighty don't return for a rematch.

Re: Saints Vs Viking Sept 9

Nah I still think it would draw a lot of viewers even without Favre. The first game is always real nice to watch after the looong offseason.

Re: Saints Vs Viking Sept 9

I believe that Favre will come back if Minnesota is the opening opponent. The reason is simple; his ego. His ego will want revenge and he will find it hard to take that the final throw of his career was an interception coupled with the fact it was against the eventual winners of the Superbowl... that was held in Miami...on a wonderful, memorable Sunday...when we outplayed and out thought the Colts...when the gutsiest call ever came at the start of the second half...when Drew Brees was the MVP...when I cried...did I say cry, erm...I meant to say, er.stood up, punched the air and shouted 'BRING IT ON!!!'...I didn't cry, no sir, not one bit...it was the chilli seed I bit on... yes, that was it...OK I DID CRY! ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?...I forget, what was the point of this post?

We're assuming Favre doesnt "retire" again and sign a one year deal with the Seahawks.

Really, Budsdrinker got it right, I think. We could play the Rams and it would draw all those people desperate to see some football, after the offseason. Look at how many people watch the Hall O' Fame Game. --no offense, Canton.

Adam The football guy was reporting it. On ESPN. I hope he's right.

oh well hell if Adam The Football Guy says it, then we should be betting the kids on it.

Re: Saints Vs Viking Sept 9

It could be against Detroit & people would still watch. I agree with Budsdriunker - Save the Vikes for a Sunday night game.

Of course that makes way tooo much sense & they will not do it.

They will be shakin in their cleats again. I cant wait to see Favre get dropped another 10X's. You know the dome will be rockin, especially when we drop that Super Bowl Champions banner down from the rafters.

Re: Saints Vs Viking Sept 9

yeah drop the banner with Favre on the sidelines. That would be sweet.

The funny thing is, now the Vikings have a chance to win... Now that the game isn't worth anything..... :)

Ive been reading on NFL.com, all the Vikings fans talking smack about, "how sweet it's going to be, to beat us the first game of the year." Can someone tell me how many Lombardi trophies you actually get for winning the first game of the season?

That is IF they win, which I don't foresee happening.

My point was they don't win when it counts for something. They have great seasons, and even post season, but when it comes to big games, they choke like there's no tomorrow. The Buffalo Bills of the NFC.

That is true. I agree with you on that!
