Restricted free agent defensive end Jeff Charleston signed his one-year contract tender from the New Orleans Saints late last week, agent Blake Aaron Baratz confirmed, meaning he is no longer free to sign with another team.

Charleston's deal is worth $1.101 million. Restricted free agents have until April 15 to sign an offer sheet with another team if they so choose, but Charleston clearly didn't feel the need to shop around any longer.
The 27-year-old backup played in all 19 games for the Saints last year, tallying 23 tackles including the playoffs. He also played on special teams. The 6-foot-4, 265-pounder could become even more valuable this season now that the Saints have released veteran defensive end Charles Grant, depending on whom else they add in free agency and the draft.

I think he played previously with the Colts .... he's a keeper.
