Great guy to have in the rotation and he's not going to break the bank.

Re: Looks like Hargrove is staying
I hope he take grants spot. I really liked when we picked him up last year. I think he has a great upside. I wish the contract was a little longer.

Report: Anthony Hargrove to sign Saints tender on Monday
Posted by Mike Florio on April 4, 2010 4:52 PM ET Amid a report that the agent-sharing relationship between Saints defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove and Lions G.M. Martin Mayhew could cause a little legal collusion in an effort to get Hargrove moved to Motown, WWL-TV reports that Hargrove will be signing his one-year tender offer on Monday, The Saints used the "original round" tender on Hargrove, giving them a right to match any offer made to Hargrove and a third-round pick as compensation, in exchange for a non-guaranteed salary of $1.226 million for 2010. Of course, signing the tender doesn't mean Hargrove will stay in New Orleans. The move could be a precursor to a trade of Hargrove to Detroit or another team, just as the Seahawks did with defensive end Darryl Tapp, as they are expected to do with guard Rob Sims, and as the Eagles recently did with linebacker Chris Gocong. |

Re: Report: Anthony Hargrove to sign Saints tender on Monday
Hargrove is something like a Hero and an Inspiration to many poor New Orleans Neighborhood Kids looking for a way out or change in their ways, i hope he continue to be a mentor to the kids.. God knows New Orleans need it.

Re: Report: Anthony Hargrove to sign Saints tender on Monday
Like the article says it doesn't mean that he will be in a Saints uni this year. But at least we can get some picks if they decide to trade him. I hope he stays though.

Agreed. |
Re: Report: Anthony Hargrove to sign Saints tender on Monday
We certainly need help at DT and he is flexible enough to play DE effectively as well. Let's hope he isn't going to wind up as trade bait.

Re: Report: Anthony Hargrove to sign Saints tender on Monday
All he would do in Detroit is die a slow painful "professional" death.

Re: Report: Anthony Hargrove to sign Saints tender on Monday
what i'm getting is they share the same agent, why would he go for a team thats 4-5 years away from a winning season. or stay and go to the super bowl again in 2010-2011. i don't know if we can get a third rounder that can get it done like he has.

Hargrove signs tender; Saints say he'll return in 2010 | ProFootballTalk.com
Hargrove signs tender; Saints say he'll return in 2010 Posted by Michael David Smith on April 5, 2010 3:20 PM ET Saints restricted free agent defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove has signed his tender offer, and the team announced that he'll be back in New Orleans in 2010. That Hargrove signed the tender is no surprise; it was reported yesterday that he would sign it today. But there was some talk that signing the tender would be the first step toward the Saints trading Hargrove, potentially to the Detroit Lions. Now the Saints say that's not in the plans. The team's official announcement cites Saints Executive VP/General Manager Mickey Loomis as saying Hargrove will return to New Orleans for the 2010 season. In 2009 Hargrove played in all 16 games for the Saints, starting six and recording five sacks. That represented a major comeback for a player who was suspended for the entire 2008 season for a third positive drug test. |

So glad that he is staying but not suprised. Watching him dancing with a Saintsation's pom-poms and nearly mugging Len Dawson during the Lombardi Trophy presentation makes me believe that he really likes it here. |
