Sporting News Bottom Line The Bottom Line
The Colts have great confidence in both their running and passing games, and should thrive offensively against a Saints defense that tends to gamble too much and wear down late in games. On the other side of the ball, the Colts have squelched their reputation for being soft as they are starting to play the physical cover-2 with aggressiveness. This matchup looks like the Big Easy for the Colts on paper, especially considering the Saints are coming off an awful performance against the Titans. However, the Saints seem to be a team that rises to the challenge when backed into a corner, and that's exactly where they are in Week 4. The Saints will try to unleash McAllister early and if he can get back on track, it will force the Colts to bring a safety into the box and give Brooks enough man-to-man matchups to exploit to keep some drives going. The Colts are a good team, but they aren't great, and they could be ready for a meltdown. We get the feeling that McAllister's success on the ground will lead to one or two backbreaking big plays from the Saints' explosive receivers, leading them to the upset at home. Pick: Saints 24, Colts 23 |
