We were offered Hayneworth and declined..According to Jason La Canfora
Fred, Charlotte, NC1:23 PM ET
Jason, I keep hearing Jammal Brown will be traded to either Detroit (#34) or San Fran (#17). Your thoughts? Also, could Saints trade second for Haynesworth? Jason La Canfora, NFL Network I wouldn't rule Washington out of that equation, either (that trade would have to be for players, though, with Skins light on picks). As for Saints and Haynesworth, they were offered him a few weeks back and had no interest. That won't change. NFL Live Chat You have to scroll down a bit ..there is some other tidbits on us as well |

Strato, part of receiving the activity award means you need to post all of the pertinent information in one window... Don't make us go scrolling man. lol
Haynesworth? Why?? Cody has more upside anyway. |

Re: We were offered Hayneworth and declined..According to Jason La Canfora
absolutely no reason to trade brown without getting another LT
bushrod will not suffice if he plays like he did last season and this is seriously going to hurt carl nicks' progression |

Re: We were offered Hayneworth and declined..According to Jason La Canfora
Washington wanted Philly to take haynesworth and they said no, why? Because he holds a 100 million dollar contract. No thanks.

This trade may resurface. The reason teams have declined the trade is haynesworth was due a roster bonus of many many millions by the end of last week I believe. Washington has since paid that bonus. So this may come back up now that other teams wont be responsible for that.

Re: We were offered Hayneworth and declined..According to Jason La Canfora
Washington's D is changing to a 3-4 and Haynesworth wants to play in a 4-3, so the rumors are that's why he's wanting out. Though, I'm sure his attitude may also be the reason why they're open to dealing him.
His contract really isn't as bad as one would think. I'm not really for or against this trade, I'm just stating that it is possible. I just don't see it happening. |

We just might do it for that...and trade Brown...
|
Re: We were offered Hayneworth and declined..According to Jason La Canfora
Let's see: Trade our 3rd for Haynesworth, thus taking away our need for drafting a DT in the 1st or 2nd. Trade Brown to the Cowboys for their 1st, and 3rd? or possibly 4th? Two first rounders, take a OT, and a LB, and then S in the second.... Hmmmm, this is all sounding like a repeat to me baby!

Re: We were offered Hayneworth and declined..According to Jason La Canfora
Word is Haynseworth is not "Coachable" he is rebelious and doesnt take direction well does his on thing. Also is known to take MANY plays off. WOuldnt survive on a Payton coached team I say No deal.

Re: We were offered Hayneworth and declined..According to Jason La Canfora
I have a friend who is a 'Skins fan and when we are at a sports bar watching football he always would say watch Haynesworth take a dive. I started to notice the fact that he does this alot....spends alot of time on the ground. It's the I am hurt, fall down and kill some time thing. My friend thinks it is to give himself a rest. That dog won't hunt with Payton at the helm.

Having said that...Haynesworth appears to have a black cloud following him and the Saints might not want that much of a distraction. |

Re: We were offered Hayneworth and declined..According to Jason La Canfora
Fat Albert had a fat bonus back then so it wasnt worth it when he could be had for the same price without the payday later if the Saints want him why not wait until hes cheaper to acquire he not worth the farm but i hear Super Bowl MVP's can be had for low considerations so if its reasonable make the deal. Sean Payton will get him to fall in line + I hear some guy named Gregg Williams lets the animals out the cage in N.O so if he turns out to be a herb then cut him take the loss ideally so type of return but there is a Championship structure here so hes not gonna shake the heavens Too Many leaders in the Locker room Washington is a confused team right now they are changing coaches now but they had already begun the mutiny early last season on poor Jim Zorn

Re: We were offered Hayneworth and declined..According to Jason La Canfora
Besides being stuck in a front that he didnt sign on for, Albert was also being asked to stunt in that system. I would imagine being doubled every play plus getting that mass moving on stunts would tucker him out, if the accusation of him taking plays off is accurate. He's a top 5 DT at the right price for me.
