I'm bored with this years draft...
 

Man, winning the Superbowl has really changed being a Saints fan.

Not that I'm complaining. Those of you who know me, know I would never do that, but...

I remember only last year thinking that our first pick could somehow change our history and lead us to the promised land. Much like an 8 year old kid, I couldn't wait to unrap our new player and start designing Xs and Os and mismatches that all too often never materialized.

While winning the Superbowl was great, it has changed being a Saints fan forever.

I really could care less who we draft. They won't start and won't play much as a rookie. For better or worse... gone are the old days.

I agree wholeheartedly with these two statements. I always look forward to the draft, but I'm at that point of being apathetic on who we draft, as well. I haven't really gone out on a limb with any one college player that I am dying to have in a Saints uniform. There are several that I wouldn't mind having (Weatherspoon, Gerhart, Mays, etc.), but there isn't one that stands out. It's a shame, too. There is a lot of talent and potential in this draft.

This is perfectly normal. This Lakers fan barely watches the NBA draft anymore. It won't be that interesting again until training camp starts.

I don't know, I always get excited for Draft Day. I'm curious to see if the kids we pick up this year will help lead us to a repeat title. I was the same way last year with our '09 draft class.

I had someone today ask me if I was excited about the draft cause he knows I'm a huge football fan ... I was like hmm not really, I know a few guys I liked to see the Saints get but this year I haven't followed it like years before

I think that we have been kicked around so much and made the butt of so many jokes that we are having trouble dealing with the novelty of being champions...that's why we need another one to help us with our swagger. We are all a little new at this right now.


Speaking of bored...found something out the other day when I was posting in the Drummer thread. At the end of "Strawberry Fields Forever", you can hear somebody say what we thought during the "Paul is Dead" years was, "I buried Paul." Later, someone told me that it was actually somebody saying, "I'm very bored." Now, it seems, that I've been mistaken all these years when he is actually saying, "Cranberry Sauce". Of course, this is just something I read, so even that could be wrong, I suppose.

You know why I'm telling you all this? Well, I'm not gonna say but suffice it to say that it sounds like, "Cranberry Sauce"!
