Evolution of our language? I happen to think it should be taken very seriously and I read critically. Professional writers make stupid mistakes all the time. I am constantly amazed at the crap I see in magazines and newspapers. Then again, it would seem that I might be able to trace the errors back to the teacher. There's no excuse for being 'forgiving', and while I am the first person to recognize English is not an exact science, there is a right way and a wrong way, and you don't infer anything to circumvent the rules. ![]()
I also think pointing out someones grammar on a football message board is silly, and in this case I think it's the case of someone being a jerk because that's what they're good at. On the comma we can agree to disagree, and I'll be thankful my kids don't end up learning grammar from you. ![]() |
