we definitely can afford him. What does he probably want, $5 mill, maybe $6? We tendered at $3.6 so that we retain his rights, knowing he would cost more.
If we wanted to lose him, why not tender him at something that might actually be matched? We now feel that we MIGHT get a 2nd for him, but we tendered him at 1st & 3rd
By skipping OTA's Brown is doing what he feels he needs to. The thing is, he doesn't have as much leveerage as he thinks. If he doesn't like our final offer, if he willing to sit out, meaning he is off the field for TWO years? How much would he earn in 2011 if he did that? |
