Just talked to Bushrod....

on Facebook. Nice guy, said winning the Super Bowl was an unbelievable experience and he's looking forward to next year.

I asked him if he knew who the Saints were going to draft. He laughed and said he wish he knew. I asked him if it would be an OT, and he laughed and said he hoped not.

Pretty cool of him to talk to a complete stranger.

yea you should've asked him how it felt to be the only player at his position that is terrible but still gets a lot of love from fans

there isnt another player in the NFL that gets that much love for being so terribly awful

Lets be fair now. He's non an elite LT but to call him terribly awful isn't right. He is a decen middle of the pack LT that you can get by with if you give him help.

Why am I not surprised by this? Unless it's about Jammal Brown, Aaron Stecker, or Terrence Cody it's *****, *****, *****. Calling Bushrod terrible is almost laughable. It was his first season as a starter in the NFL, coming out of a very small school where we knew he'd take a long time to develop. In his first season he helped his team win a Super Bowl. It certainly wasn't a perfect first season, but it wasn't terrible by any means. He struggled for a streak in the latter part of the season, but he played pretty well in the playoffs and the Super Bowl. In fact he gave up no sacks in the Arizona game, none in the Vikings game, and one against Dwight Freeney (who is pretty good).

Thank you for continuing to add such value to conversations. Maybe if I start a thread called "Aaron Stecker: the greatest, hardest working, most talented, super duper marginal role player in history" we can really get some discussion going.

I like it when the players take the time to interact with the fans.
