New Orleans Saints select LSU's Al Woods with the 123rd pick
The Saints traded their pick in the fourth round, No. 130th, and their sixth-round pick to the Cardinals.
Woods didn't become a full-time starter until his senior season when he started all 13 games. He had 33 tackles, 4.5 for loss, and one sack. He blocked a field goal against Ole Miss that was returned for a touchdown. Woods is considered a player with large upside. He played sparingly behind Glenn Dorsey, Marlon Favorite and Ricky Jean-Francois his first two seasons. He visited the Saints and worked out with Saints defensive line coach Bill Johnson. Woods will hit the rotation and do well. I like every pick in this draft so far. No lb but have faith in Payton. He knows what he is doing.
