In addition to coming off reconstructive shoulder surgery, unsigned restricted free agent O.J. Atogwe is reportedly dealing with a sports hernia.

He's really banged up, which explains the lack of interest in Atogwe to this point. Still, it's likely to pick up shortly. Teams like the Dolphins, Cowboys, Bears, and Jaguars could all use a play-making free safety.

Rams GM Billy Devaney expressed frustration that O.J. Atogwe's name was floated in Wednesday's Donovan McNabb-to-St. Louis trade reports.
Devaney says the Rams are working to sign Atogwe long term, and didn't need rumors that could cause unhappiness on the player's side. Damage has already been done, with St. Louis low-balling Atogwe on his restricted free agent tender. The ballhawk is slated to earn just $1.226M at the moment.

merriman only does 1 thing

he is a DE playing LB

he used steroids and got caught and his production has seriously declined since then

hes often injured and refused surgery on an injury that could end his career

would require a big contract but he doesnt do anything more than rush the passer

and has history of domestic abuse and violence off the field

hes a bad egg IMO

I just have to ask, because the only "domestic" problems, I remember him having, was when a drunk Tila Tequila came to his house, and he restrained her, to keep her from driving. Is that the domestic problems you guys are referring too? Because if that's it, then I hardly think that should count. No charges were filed, because, well, she's a drunken ho-bag....

Well, if we are going to say that about Merriman, couldn't the same thing be said about Will Smith? He took a banned substance, and as of right now, he's gotten away with it.

I don't walk through sports blindly, and I have no doubt that more than 50 percent of the NFL is taking steroids. The others just haven't been caught yet. If you don't like illegal drugs in your professional sports, maybe you should watch soccer, or lawn darts...... It's been there for years, and guaranteed, it ain't going no where anytime soon.

I wouldn't mind having Merrimen for the right price. He is just a one trick pony, but when he is healthy, there isn't many in the league better. Regardless, his contract will far exceed his production so I would stay away. Also, I don't know if it was because he got off the juice or he never fully recovered from the injury he tried to play with a couple seasons ago, but he isn't anywhere close to the player he came into the league as.

Also, you have to separate off-the-field conduct and on-the-field conduct when it comes to free agents. Yeah, dude has a screwed up personal life, but when he was on the field, it was strictly business.

Have u guys ever listened to Tila Tequila when she is sober? I can only imagine how annoying she is drunk. Not justifying his actions, but in that situation I might be looking to put "lights out" myself....
