New Orleans Saints invite Craig Heyward Jr. (Iron Head Jr) to try out at rookie minicamp
 

Craig Heyward Jr. -- the son of former New Orleans Saints standout and fan favorite 'Ironhead' Heyward -- will be among a group of about 40 tryout players at this weekend's rookie minicamp.

Heyward Jr. isn't likely to threaten for a roster spot or training camp invite after playing sparingly as a walk-on at Middle Tennessee State. But if the 6-foot, 234-pounder is anything like his late father, he won't go down without a fight.

It would be awesome to see him crack the lineup...hey, stranger things have happened. Look at Colston. And Jason David actually finding a team after his stint in New Orleans.

I really hope we can get his brother Cameron Heyward in 2011, but if he's going to be a top draft pick, im not willing to sacrifice a season to get him lol.. we'll keep his brother.

Ha! I see Junior did four carries for three yards. Bet each run took minutes off the clock. I got his pa's autograph when the Saints came over the American Bowl against the Raiders. Memories........
