Former Indianapolis Colts running back Chad Simpson, former New England Patriots offensive tackle Wesley Britt among veterans trying out for New Orleans Saints

Former Indianapolis Colts running back Chad Simpson and former New England Patriots offensive tackle Wesley Britt are two of six "veteran" players trying out for the New Orleans Saints during this weekend's rookie minicamp.

Also trying out for the Saints this weekend are receiver Derrick Hamilton (a former third-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers who has since bounced around with the Falcons, Buccaneers, Texans, Broncos and Canadian Football League's Toronto Argonauts); tight end Jamarko Simmons (an undrafted free agent who spent last summer with Green Bay); cornerback Travonti Johnson (an undrafted free agent who spent past offseasons with the New York Giants); and cornerback Pete Ittersagen (an undrafted free agent who spent last summer with Jacksonville).
