Coach Sean Payton shot down speculation that the Saints could be interested in signing JaMarcus Russell to back up Drew Brees.

"I don't think (we'd consider signing him) right now, with where we're at," Payton said. "I know he's gonna look for that next opportunity, and our league usually provides that." The Saints remain interested in signing a veteran to act as the No. 2 QB, but they won't be bringing Russell back to Louisiana

payton has his QB.....he has 2 projects now.....he doesnt want another one

russell probably would'nt come if we asked him to. he's standing fat i mean pat on being a starter and he has absolutly - 199% chance of starting here. reporters love to stir gumbo for a nugget.
