New Orleans Saints links: Gregg Williams wanted Buffalo Bills to draft Drew Brees
1 Attachment(s)
Drew Brees as a Buffalo Bill?
It could have happened in 2001 had the Bills drafted the quarterback out of Purdue instead of defensive back Nate Clements in the first round or if then-coach Gregg Williams got his wish, which was trading up in the second round to grab Brees. Instead, the Bills found no takers to move up from the 46th overall pick and Brees went to the San Diego Chargers at No. 32 with the first pick in the second round. The Bills took defensive end Aaron Schoebel at 46. Brees, who was the headliner at Wednesday's 61st annual Rochester Press-Radio Club Day of Champions Charity Dinner, said that last season Williams reminded him "every day," that he wanted Brees. Williams is the defensive coordinator for the reigning Super Bowl champion Saints. Gregg Williams wanted Buffalo Bills to draft Drew Brees | democratandchronicle.com | Democrat and Chronicle |

I'm not surprised. GW knows talent when he sees it(Drew has it) and didn't want to game plan against him.

Yeah, Brees in Buffalo wouldn't have been a good thing, by any means. Since the early 90s, that is now the official destination for players to go, and dissappear.
