Stinch down with sports hernia...
 

Saints RT Jon Stinchcomb is believed to be undergoing sports hernia surgery Friday after getting injured in the offseason program.
We often hear highly optimistic return timetables for sports hernias (this one says "3 to 4 weeks"), but the lingering effects of such an injury can ruin seasons. The Saints, though, have plenty of depth at tackle to withstand Stinchcomb's absence. Zach Strief will likely step in with the first team.

Yea, only reason I go to SR is to see if anything important has been posted that hasn't been here. They all seem too whiny there. Don't think I'll ever post there because I don't feel like getting in a conflict.

On a serious note: I cant believe Stinch has a hernia. I saw him saturday in Houston and he looked just fine.

btw, seriously, Stinch was walking around at Reliant Saturday for a promotion, and he didnt say anything about being hurt. He was being interviewed, and chatting with the Lame Houston sportsradio dudes. They desperately need an "Hebert."

Sports hernias are rather annoying injuries for lineman(both defense and offense) because they tend to get a lot of their push from there core. That being said, it's only May, he has plenty of time to recover from surgery and possibly be 100% by the time we start playing games. Only fear is if recovery doesn't go right and it lingers. Last year with Jammal Brown, I don't think he'd went to the IR if we didn't need to sign people in other areas effected by injury; it was sort of a hand we were forced into and they did what they thought was best for winning games.

does anyone know what the heck is going on with all the sports hernias in new orleans. its three years in a row now that we have that sports hernia-idos. i really hope he makes it back.

Guys, relax. He'll be ready to go by training camp no problem if it's just as advertised and only a sports hernia injury repair. Remember, Jonathan Vilma came back from one of these same exact surgeries in the offseason last year and he didn't miss a single game all year on their way to winning the SB. Geez!

Sports hernias can linger..........and hurt like hell. Mine healed relatively quickly, so I've got high hopes for a speedy recovery.
