Re: New Member
I was born in Meridian, and raised in Philadelphia. Although my entire family, on both sides live in Pascagoula for the most part. Wade, Gautiea, Gulf Port, even Lucedale. The squids I know, all live in Neshoba county though.

Meridian .. home of Hartley Peavey....My cousin Al Duff used to cut necks for his guitars

Re: New Member
I've got like twenty friends I graduated with, that used to work at the Peavey plant in Decatur. Or is it Newton... I can't remember. That was years ago. One of my friends worked on the guitar line. Basically his job was to pick up a guitar, check the neck, the body, and all the specs, play it for about ten minutes, and if everything checked out, put it back on the line. If not, send it back for repairs. He basically got paid 12 dollars an hour, to sit and play guitar all day. Not bad in my book...
I live about ten miles north of Petaluma, California, where the Mesa Boogie plant is. I've driven by there a bunch of times. Would love to work there. I love Mesa's. Their Lonestar amps are freaking sweeeeet.... |
Re: New Member
Yeah Mesa is a hotrodded Fender...he worked for Leo then started in a small buliding behind his house...You know my aunt worked for Leo from 1952 till the early seventies...then when Fender was repurshased back in 90 they brought her back..She custom winds pups by hand..they are to die for..the tone of a scatter wound pup is hard to beat...

I'm an EMG freak. Those and Seymour Duncans. Actually, funny story, EMGs are made right here in Santa Rosa....
I have a Marshall JCM 2000 Dual Super Lead, but I would love to have a Mesa Dual Rectifier too. They are both made for metal sound. |

Re: New Member
What about Krank amps..are they really heavy?..i like tube crunch not digital....
|
Re: New Member
I played through a Krankenstein, about four years ago, and honestly, they are freaking amazing. You literally need no effects whatsoever with this amp. The most amazingly clean distortion you've ever heard, plus it has a built in noise gate. The clean channel is also very crisp, and the reverb is almost perfect. Now the price tag on the other hand.......
