JB probably needs to be traded at this point. If he really doesn't want to be with the Saints, then grant him his wish. The Saints still have Bushrod, Strief, and rookie Charles Brown. It's not like the Saints would be hurting at this point. Still, a two time pro bowl LT does require some compensation. Maybe he could be traded for a LB or something, who knows. For some reason draft picks are considered gold, so a 3rd or 4th pick may be all the Saints could get for him. Personally I would try and trade for a decent player, but we all know trades are difficult in the NFL.

View this as you wish. I am a Team Player kind of guy and fan. He has not shown up to OTA's, and voiced he does not want to stay. Let him go.... The no show for OTA's is what got to me.

We can all what if till the freaking cows come home. The reallity is he's gone now. Good riddance, adios, have fun in DC. The reason why the saints wouldn't sign him to a long term deal, is BECAUSE of the health concerns. It's better to play it safe, and not lock him up in a huge contract, than to bet the farm on him, and he misses another season.

how forgetful we are after a super bowl victory?

brown was one of the best players on our team over that past several seasons

we won the super bowl without him so now hes a cancer and a locker room hazard? now hes expendable and now hes useless? he wanted a long term contract to stay in new orleans and the fans showed him support like this?

no wonder he wanted out

So, as for me, I don't think he's a cancer, a locker room hazard or even useless...

...BUT...

The man hasn't played for us in a year, we managed quite nicely without him, we have his heir apparent (hopefully) on the roster, an extremely intelligent QB to compensate for 'average' play at the position, and frankly with the labor situation as it is, Brown might have signed his 3.5 friggin tender and been happy.

So, he's traded, still not signed long-term, only NOW he doesn't have to fight for his position which he might likely have had to do in New Orleans. He didn't like the situation here (for his own personal reasons), so that's on him. Loomis had to get what he could when he could. Brown doesn't seem to be a bad guy - and I guess I'm not certain what he was offered - but this appears to be the best for both him and the team.
