Charles Brown is an offensive tackle in his rookie season with the Saints. Brown started every game at left tackle in his junior and senior seasons at Southern Cal, and the Saints made him their second-round pick in the 2010 NFL draft, No. 64 overall. At 6 feet 5 and 297 pounds, Brown provided 28 touchdown-resulting blocks and was only penalized three times in his 1,810 snaps at USC. He switched from tight end to offensive tackle in 2005, his first season with the Trojans. He spoke recently with staff writer Rachel Whittaker.

"My dad played for the Rams on the defensive line, so definitely him."

"I don't have any superstitions, but I used to listen to the same mix tape before every game when I was in college."

Who was your favorite coach, high school or college?
"I don't have a favorite coach. Sam Baker, the left tackle who played in front of me at USC, taught me a lot."

Who's your favorite musical artist?
"Jay-Z, Kanye West and Lil Wayne."

What's your favorite pre-game meal?
"Anything really, probably macaroni and cheese and chicken."

What is your best football memory?
"Winning my first Rose Bowl against Penn State when I was a junior in college."

Who is your biggest fan?
"My girlfriend, my nephew or my sister, one of those three."

If you weren't playing football what career would you pursue?
"I would want to be a college coach somewhere."

What other position would you like to play?
"I'd want to play safety."

What's your favorite sport other than football?
"Pro basketball. I'm a big Lakers fan."
