This from WWL's Juan Kincaid:

Brooks needs to call on his big play guy

Aaron Brooks is not playing well right now and I think part of it concerns them trying to spread the ball around. The heck with that. Joe Horn is the man and they have to feed him the ball. Brooks doesn’t seem to be finding him, or his other receivers for that matter, right now.

He\'s finding \'em alright, they just don\'t catch the ball.

Sure, like the one in the dirt to Stallworth. Or how about Joe Horn yelling at Brooks twice after Brooks threw the ball so high Shaq couldn\'t have caught it. Yeah, man. 16-32. That\'s a lot of dropped balls.

did you keep a running list of the balls that were dropped? didn\'t think so...

did you hear the announcers speaking of all the dropped balls and how that was a big problem for the Saints? No? Guess you were working on the crack pipe during that part of the game. I can acknowledge that Brooks threw some bad passes, and the one to Stallworth was pretty ugly, it\'s your refusal (along with so many others here) to acknowledge the good ones that stains your credibility.

Listen, mac. Yeah, Brooks made some nice throws. I never said all of them were bad. However, he is a starting PROFESSIONAL QB, this ain\'t playground ball. We should expect better than 16-32. We should expect better than 5tds and 4ints in five games. If you don\'t expect more than that from your starting qb, they you deserve a loser. I for one, am not now, nor will I EVER BE satisfied with \"average\". And right now, thats about all Brooks is playing. AVERAGE! This is his THIRD full year as starter and I, as well as most of the fans of this team, EXPECT MORE! If he can\'t get it done, cut bait. Pure and simple. This league doesn\'t have patience and neither do I.

OK, that\'s it. I normally don\'t go down this road, but to all you in a love-fest with Brooks: PLEASE just watch and compare his accuracy with ANY other QB we play against this year. In the game we just LOST, Delhomme was much more accurate on the deep ball, and INFINITELY more accurate on the short one. I didn\'t see the Panther receiver have to make all kinds of adjustments to catch the ball!

This is pro ball. ANY pro QB should be accurate 80% of the time. Brooks is more like 40%, that will not get it done! I will NOT blame our receivers for this in ANY way. I watch them run routes, when they get to the end of it you can see them slow down, why? BECAUSE THEY DON\"T KNOW WHAT IS COMING!

It might be behind them so badly that if they continue at full speed, there is no chance to catch it (see interception, first series-Indy). It might be in the dirt and they need to make a dive (see EVERY GAME-Horn, Stallworth, Deuce). It might be so high, you will have to leap for it (we called this a \"hospital pass\" in the old days-because that\'s where it sent you after the big hit). It might be thrown at a 100 MPH and off target (you need pretty amazing skills to bring that one in.)

It is a testament to the SKILL of our receivers that we are making these catches. I am tired of giving Brooks the benefit of the doubt. I am tired of quoting stats and seeing them quoted. I see what I see. AB is an inaccurate passer with almost no skill at reading a defense. His play-fakes are pathetic and couldn\'t fool a blind man. He takes no responsibility for the mistakes HE MAKES. He has zero leadership ability and his own receivers (those a QB is normally closest to) are begging for him to be benched. His only selling points are that he has a strong arm (wtf good is strength when you can\'t hit anything?) and can run (except he doesn\'t want to be considered a \"scrambling\" QB and tries not to). HE IS NOT QUALIFIED TO QB IN THE NFL!

Rant is over.

Are you really serious? How many deep balls did he throw? I saw two. One was overthrown and the other led his receiver out of bounds. You really didn\'t see that? I did watch some of the Cowboys game and saw Quincy Carter execute the flea flicker to perfection...you know, the play Jake overthrew on Carolina\'s first play...hmmmm...I simply must have missed seeing Jake complete some deep balls. Could you enlighten me please, sir?

You really didn\'t see the Carolina receivers have to stop their route, leave their feet and reach behind them to catch numerous passes, cause I did. The big difference is the Carolina receivers actually CAUGHT balls where the Saints receivers didn\'t. I saw Jake miss his target several times too. Now, don\'t think I didn\'t see Brooks throw some bad balls too, but I saw MANY of \'em that were catchable and simply weren\'t. Maybe you and 08 watched a different game than I did...maybe, but I really doubt it. Take off the blinders and watch the WHOLE game next Sunday ok?
