Champs find no respect from ESPN preseason power rankings
ESPN releases a weekly power rankings throughout the NFL season as games are won and lost. These rankings have no real relevance to teams or their places in the standings or if they get into the playoffs or not. It's simply the opinions of NFL analysts and where they feel each team belongs in the order of the league. Still, it's a good feeling to see your favorite team at the top of the list. Maybe "no respect" is a bit of an exaggeration because the Saints are actually ranked second in the first power rankings released by ESPN. That's ahead of thirty other teams, but it still seems a tad strange to me that the Super Bowl champions from the year before would be placed behind the team they beat a mere six months ago.
