Second place champs
Champs find no respect from ESPN preseason power rankings
ESPN releases a weekly power rankings throughout the NFL season as games are won and lost. These rankings have no real relevance to teams or their places in the standings or if they get into the playoffs or not. It's simply the opinions of NFL analysts and where they feel each team belongs in the order of the league. Still, it's a good feeling to see your favorite team at the top of the list. Maybe "no respect" is a bit of an exaggeration because the Saints are actually ranked second in the first power rankings released by ESPN. That's ahead of thirty other teams, but it still seems a tad strange to me that the Super Bowl champions from the year before would be placed behind the team they beat a mere six months ago. Re: Second place champs
The less respect we get the better. Some how, a defense that had 39 take aways and scored 8 touchdowns, the number 1 offense with the 4th ranked passing offense and the 6th rank rushing offense has no chance at beating the Colts last year.

Preseason polls have about the same relevance to me as the weather in Outer Mongolia.
Does anyone know what the weather is like out there? Does anyone really care? Exactly. SFIAH |
Re: Second place champs
This should make you guys feel better...
he Pope and Obama are on stage in front of a huge crowd. The Pope leans towards Obama and said, "Do you know that with one little wave of my hand I can make every person in this crowd go wild with joy? This joy will not be momentary, but go deep into their hearts so that, for the rest of their lives, whenever they think of this day they will rejoice!" Obama replied, "I seriously doubt that you can do all that with one little wave of your hand. Show me." The Pope then slapped him. |
Re: Second place champs
ESPN has always been in love with the Dallas Cowboys. They drooled over every snipped of news coming out of that team and gets a huge hard on in the process. Already Dallas in their eyes is the team to beat this year and they will not only go to the Super bowl but win it. My take is, how the hell is that gonna happen when there're still basically the same players with the same system and coaches plus an O line that is aging and one significant draft pick (Bryant) that you're going to put everything on the line on him.
Bottom line: SEASON 2010 Dallas- 7 wins no post season appearances. You can take that to the bank |
Re: Second place champs
Consistancy is a big issue. We went from no playoffs to superbowl. If we make it back then we will get more respect. Have to build a dynasty and be consistant year to year. (consistantly good):P

Re: Second place champs
Colts = Braves ... they win when it doesn't count and only have 1 title to show for it

I agree with all of you.

Re: Second place champs
I really couldn't care less. They just make these polls for ratings anyway. Who cares what they say. We did it on the field and nobody can take that away from us. NOBODY.
